Those newer xeon cpus in the B3's are worth up to $900 used depending on spec fitted. If they are xeon golds then jackpot. Worth selling on ebay along with the power supplies.
Foot and half long screw driver! I need to get me one of those 😂Super interesting scrap. That's one heavy bugger. Glad you didn't hurt yourself lifting that int he van. Some very nice value in this one.
You've tried to manhandle these when you don't care about what happens to them. Now imagine our job of installing the damn things when they actually have to work afterwards :) The case itself is called a blade chassis, with each blade being a blade server. the two modules at the back are weirdly shaped switches.
Ben just FYI, just because memory sticks have metal heatspreaders on them doesn't mean they are RamBus (although they were the first to have them because they'd get really hot). You'd be very hard pressed to find rambus these days even in old servers. Anyway Awesome teardown of high-end server stuff, very entertaining and educational!
M1-4 5 etc is the versions so an m5 is newer than m1. But they can be ordered with whatever contents or upgraded throughout its life which is why you have such a mixture of ram.
Hello Ben from UK have you seen the magnetic sweep that Mike The Scavenger uses i think it could be very handy tool for you , i think on one of his latest videos he has left a link at where to buy them Amazon i think ,keep the vids coming love em
It's DDR3. DDR4 has more pins and are uneven at the connector unlike previous generations. The blades are no newer than Ivy-Bridge generation, so E5-2600v2 series. E5-2600v3 and newer uses DDR4. The 16 GB blocks of PC3 ECC are still worth quite a bit, and processors can be too depending on which ones they are.
