( end of 80's.)Then, it was only electronics and Robotics but was the best of it's kind, "University Grade" ( I mean you could teach at Universities after graduation.) It was the "Best of the best at that time" (BTW it was Private College schooling at the time, so you had to pay more than regular colleges.)But now, very different. Many more academics, and no more electronics related courses. I dont't know about the rankings nationwiselike or worldwiselike either though!

All street signs/busses/subways and many menus, etc are in french and you won't be immersed in the english language enough, also they just passed a new bill that may make english even more difficult in Quebec. If you want to improve your english choose an english speaking province, many Brazilians love Vancouver, BC.

Si tu veux un maximum d'immersion je te suggère d'emménager du côté ouest, où se trouvent les quartiers à tendance anglophone. Mes premiers choix seraient le Village Monkland, Pointe-Saint-Charles ou Milton-Parc, mais Verdun, Snowdon, Côte-des-Neiges et le Vieux-Saint-Laurent sont de bonnes options aussi. Aussi, si tu as le portefeuille pour, Westmount est une autre excellente option. C'est un endroit pittoresque avec beaucoup d'histoire et d'héritage britannique/écossais! I think Toronto is awesome and beautiful too, but I'm definitely biased because I've lived in Montréal my entire life and I've grown attached to it. To me, Montréal just has more personnality and more history because it's older, less uniform and blends French and English heritage on many levels. Also, there's a certain joie de vivre here that's just lacking in Toronto because of the more fast-paced big American city vibe; whereas I feel Montréal is more relaxed and easygoing.

I can't speak for your specific field of expertise (Finances) but with a diploma from Quebec plus functional levels of French and English, you could fairly easily find a job in Canada (especially in QC). I work in a big Engineering firm in Montreal and the requirements for most of job posting is to be comfortable to work in French and/or English. This means being able to speak and write emails (not necessary perfectly) with your colleagues or clients and to be able to read and to draft reports. Most of my colleagues are immigrants or have English as first language. There are always French/English native speakers to help you when you struggle with something. During your studies, I would try to improve as much as possible my French and my English (especially French if you want to stay in QC). The current provincial government has changed the immigration rules recently. Before, it was easy for international students to apply for their permanent residency. Now, it's harder. But, if you can get a hold on work permit through an employer, it's the "normal" way to permanent residency. You should check this out since I don't know all the details. No sé de donde es en América del sur pero, hay una comunidad grande de Latinos en Montreal, más grande que en Toronto. Hay varios negocios de productos latinos. Varios productos se encuentran también en el supermercado. Podrá encontrar bastante fácilmente lo que está acostumbrado a comer en su país. Ya estudié a las HEC. naaah, it's impossible! there are almost no detached houses in downtown. townhouses start at 800-900k lol. as for the neighbourhoods, it depends on your needs and budget. I love downtown and Plateau but the prices are a bit high (not as high as in Toronto). Laval is good, Saint Laurent is good, West Island is good too :)

What is this nonsense? According to the 2016 census, Montreal is a city where 21% of the population speaks three languages or more. This is double that of Toronto. You can wear a headscarf anywhere. not true , all food , clothing , appliances are cheaper in Ontario. In Quebec only real estate is cheaper. Also have in mind that income taxation is much heavier in Quebec , so , in take home money you make more in Ontario than in Quebec with the same gross salary. If you take everything into account , in the long run , let's say 20 years , Ontario is a more sensible choice.

If I may make one simple distinction...if the part time job is in the service industry (restaurants and retail stores), you will need some French. If your job is to serve the public, you need to make an effort to be bilingual.

@@ThisisYulia for students too, since living costs are lower than Toronto or Montreal. Ottawa is only a 2 hr drive from Montreal so easy to visit for a weekend. Actually Ottawa isn't great for old people, it's too cold during the winters.

Lots of culture, most diverse multicultural city in the world and many yearly festivals, street parties, celebrations, and outdoor events to prove that in non Covid years. We got plenty of food/fine dining from all over the world. MTL has the history I will give them that because they are older. Their flair is more European that's fine and dandy. Toronto's flair is the abundance of every type of person in the world thus you get a slice of each kind of pie. Good for you that you love MTL, but others prefer Toronto, I been to MTL its cool but Toronto is amazing/special and will always be home to me. Living here I have experienced so much and there is so much to offer especially in the Spring and Summer time its beautiful here. Going to the Toronto islands on a hot summers day by the lake with ppl you know is a memorable experience, especially near sunset. Countless beaches and parks throughout the city we got that too. Outdoor patios are awesome here as well. Toronto is one of the best/safest metropolis cities in North America bud. Financial capital of Canada and a desired city world wide to live in and migrate to. We also have a top 5 skyline in North America. Job opportunities, entertainment, nightlife, schools, theatres, beautiful/unique neighborhoods and great people, you name it we have it. Canada as a whole is dependent on the USA for a lot lol its not just Toronto. USA are the neighbors to the south so that's not too surprising and it shouldn't be a reason to "hate" on Toronto quite frankly. Well like I said that's good for you, you prefer MTL, however; I being from Toronto knowing what it has to offer and not just being a "visitor" who does not get to experience every little thing you can do and see, would know just how awesome it is here. As with any place Toronto is not without faults but imo the PROS far outweigh the cons. You really gotta know Toronto well to know the best parts of it which I do, every time of year has something different to offer here. Also its not just downtown either, GTA as a whole has so many different places to see and things to do, just have to be willing to look. MTL is also cool I like it there as well nothing against it, its just different and smaller, less people, more French influenced. MTL also has its faults like any other place, this does not make it any less good I just prefer Toronto it has its own swagger that speaks for itself and only someone from here would truly understand what I mean.

I can only agree with 1, 10, 11, 13. 2-5. "better food/shopping" depends on your taste only. Montreal has the highest number of restaurants per Capita in Canada and the second in North America after New York. “cheaper options” also depend on your knowledge of the city/food preferences 6. “bigger shows come to Toronto” also depend on your taste. I have a lot of friends who come to Montreal for music shows every year. not mentioning music festivals like Ile Soniq, Osheaga, Heavy Montreal etc 7. Montreal also has a lot of alcohol choices 8. In Montreal it’s not a problem if you don’t speak French. I have friends who have been living here for 15+ years barely speaking any French and running businesses 9. Everything is faster if you have private insurance. my friend waited for more than a year for a surgery covered by OHIP. is it fast? I don’t think so 12.Not true at all. in Montreal we have companies like Google, EA Games, Warner Brothers, Deloitte etc. again, it depends on what YOU do in your life. as for me, product opportunities are better here compared to Toronto 14.Does it make Toronto a better/cooler city than Montreal? Salaries are higher in Toronto, there is much more liquidity, and Toronto's GDP is double that of Montreal's, Toronto makes up 20% of Canada's GDP while Montreal makes up roughly 10%. Montreal used to be Canada's financial capital but since the 1970s that switched over to Toronto. In regard to #9 I was referring to wait times in Hospitals, by every standard wait times in Quebec Hospitals are the longest in Canada, I can send you some literature on this point if you like. With respect to whether Toronto being a Global City makes better or cooler, I honestly would say no. Everyone generally agrees Montreal is a cooler and more fun city than Toronto. I think your response to my comment proves my original point. You are not objective on this issue, you clearly favour Montreal both in your video and in your response and this was never a real comparison. I just wanted to help balance out some of the points you made if someone is deciding on which city to live in. If someone is immigrating to Canada and wants to make money I would definitely say move to Toronto and visit Montreal. If someone wants to go on a trip or be a student then I would say go to Montreal and think about visiting Toronto.

Toronto is not Turks and Caicos ! 2) greater food diversity ? on the diversity factor alone, I would say about the same quantity of options but not necessarily the same options. Toronto has a lot of South Asian and Montreal has a lot of Middle Eastern. 3) better shopping ? only Torontonians actually think this. European fashion influence reaches Montreal before moving west down the 401. 4) Toronto has street food. Montreal does not. So if that qualifies as better, okay. 5) cheaper take out options ? Montreal offers much better VALUE in all options. $15/$20 can get really good grub in Montreal. My family from Toronto can never get enough of Montreal food !!! 6) bigger shows ? usually same concerts pass through Toronto and Montreal. and the exceptions can go both ways. But I will give Toronto this extra...great Broadway style theatre !!! 7) do you think Montreal only gets wine from France ? sheesh ! 8) downtown or central Montreal is known as a bilingual city...but its reputation is that it is too French for Anglophones and too English for Francophones...so go figure... 9) To be fair, some provinces specialise in different things. It is not uncommon to have to travel to another province for a specialty surgery. It is forever comparing itself to American cities...ugh ! Culturally, Montreal has a bigger global influence.
