Forest extension is brilliant work, mate! A very beautiful solution to the issue of those hard-edged forestry zones.

Although I'm a big fan of industrial looking style, I love how you hide the forest extractors among trees. Simple yet very effective👍

That was a really good example of a wellsite. I know... I've lived on them in those trailers :) They were called 50/50's and there was one guy in each half. They were little apartments with kitchen, living, bedroom and bathroom. Compact but really very nice 👍. You just have to get used to the noise.

It'd probably be better if you put the cargo station on a separate 1 way road. That way your regular traffic won't get blocked by trucks going to the station

Nice. Off the topic. Quick question. What should I do to get a efficient cargo train? Ussually my trains go out with some more or less than 20 or 40 prcent. Any advice, thanks un advance.
@Captain_Ahvious

I don't think you need to worry about efficient cargo trains, the less trucks going in and out is actually a good thing. However efficient passenger trains is a different story, having majority 25-50 passengers in a train seems wasteful.

Lets say you have a truck taking a train to a cargo terminal in generic IND area from forestry. lets say there are two trains full of material going that way. When the first truck destined for generic enters the terminal the terminal holds it for a time so that anymore going to that destination can collect so that a fuller train can be created. After a while the train must be let go to their destination so it is released. Because there are other destinations being collected as well it can take a long time to filter trucks to fill trains, but if the train is not full by the time allotted it is let go anyways. Local transfer material trains that are part full are understandable. Also remember that A train can and often does make multiple deliveries so it is easy to find them part filled. I do see trains delivering to a terminal and picking up more from that location then delivering to another terminal before despawning or at their last stop they pick up a tiny more cargo to take back to their home terminal. I do find that building a rail yard is a good way to consolidate train cargo. Especially Imports and exports for there are usually four or less off map rail connections. So without a yard every terminal connected or running on the lines that connect to off map will make a train to each of those off map connections, that can be a great many trains. If the forestry terminal can fill only half a train destined for Springfield with exports, and Oil fills 1/4 train then generic can send 1 1/2 trains full. A yard will collects all cargo going to Springfield from all places and rebuild or refills trains with mixed exports destined to Springfield for full trains. Sorry for being so long winded about this. I do have clips showing this yard idea and one clip showing and trying to explain how it works.

I have 2 major problems with cargo trains. The first is I tend to rely on one train like for all cargo trains and it gets messy, too many trains clogging up the works. My second problem is my sims will often drive cargo across the whole map instead of using the trains which have a shorter more direct route to the destination.

You should check my previous episode on how I distributed the different types of cargo around the city. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jypv3zGs0vE.html&t=

Why should the ChirpX launch site be on one while tile?
@Captain_Ahvious
@Captain_Ahvious 2 года назад
Its not a precise rule that the ChirpX launch site should be in 1 whole tile, it just seems realistic that it should far away from the rest of the city. But even in this city, its not far enough, but we only have 9 tiles to play with, so it'll have to do.

@@Captain_Ahvious I see. Last time I put one up it kept telling me it didn't have enough resources. Thought maybe that could be why? Maybe there was a little too much traffic?
@Captain_Ahvious
@Captain_Ahvious 2 года назад
@@Kevin-dq8os Keeping your traffic healthy ensures that resources and services are delivered and picked up in a timely manner. I strategically placed the ChirpX Launch Site near the Ore Industry because the Launch Site requires Ore as a resource. But no need to worry if deliveries are delayed to the Launch Site, it will never abandon.

do you have any plans of building a common seaport on your city?
@regisferreira9454

Always a great job man Just one problem, in the ore area, you create a brigde on the right side and you upgrade de road to a one way road, check this out!
@Captain_Ahvious
@Captain_Ahvious 2 года назад
Yes, that was intentional. For truck to return to the extractor site, they would have to cross the bridge instead of taking the longer route from where they originally exited. What I failed to do was further elaborate that the bridge was to complete the counter clockwise loop.
