Always get the sense that Citizen just make what they want to make and don't mind leaving behind fans who just want Youth IV. Every album has been beautiful.
Heavy disagree, each of their previous records was unique and distinct from each other similar to how this is, but this one is just a complete flop for me.
This album sounds like the product of Citizen being locked in a basement for the entirety of the pandemic listening to Bloc Party - Silent Alarm every day
I just found citizen about a month ago and i have listening to this and as you please literally non-stop. this is my album of the year for 2023. i dont care if it came out 2 years ago. masterpiece.
every single citizen album has been unique and special in it's own way. love how they can switch it up and still kill it every single time. LIYGW is a masterpiece just like the rest, fuckin love this band
Why is it that every time these legends put a new album out, it's at the exact moment I need it, and for the exact reasons? Yet another banger, beginning to end.
It's like the strokes, two door cinema club, pheonix, all blended into a protein shake and citizen drank that ish up. Absolutely love it, and am 100% here for it. LONG LIVE CIZ
Guys, a band should be able to progress. All of these people crying and morning about how they want Youth IV or Young States II are completely living in the past. Grow up.
This became absolutely my favourite album of all the time, it's really so cool and listening to this it's like living one of those cool nights trips by car, the first songs are like the start of the drive where it's all so energetic and then the last part becomes a little more vibe like when everything's finished, it's late night and everyone's tired but deeply happy about the night they had. Also I'm Italian so I hope all this thing I wrote is decent to read ahah, just wanted to say that these guys really created something amazing, I love them, the beautiful singer's voice and the instrumentation, really an amazing job.
This band is so highly underated I'm confused. The lyrics are so good with so much to say a so little filler my mind is boggled that they don't speak to more cats.
This album.. I was weary. Wasn't sure where they were going. But it quickly grew on me like a lesion I refuse to get rid of. This will be a forever album. Vinyl, CD and stream all the time !
First album I've pre-ordered and felt nice about supporting the artists while they're still making the music, and the album doesn't disappoint one bit!
Man, what a great album. No one album of Citizen sounds the same- each has its own direction and style, but it stays consistently unique and interesting. Everybody Goes to Heaven was a really transformative album for me, and I’m glad that there’s still more of this band to listen to.
When I first listened to the album the day it came out it felt alien and I didn't think I really liked it. But a few more listens in I'm forming my new favourites and really warming up to it as a whole. I think I let my love and nostalgia for Everybody Is Going to Heaven set up expectations for it that were totally smashed when I actually heard their new sound, and that's on me, but Life In Your Glass World still sounds like them and still feels just like the band that I've loved so I'm happy for myself and I'm happy that the band are doing what they wanna do and exploring new things- but so grateful for them keeping the old energy that I adore! I think death dance approximately is my new fav. Anyone who doesn't love the new sound is valid to feel that way and shouldn't be insulted and dogpiled like I've seen a few times in the comments here, you SHOULD be able to constructively criticise something don't like, but I'm glad I held my tongue til now before leaving my thoughts. I hope this goes on to become my fav album and can't wait to hear the new songs live 💐✨
@@MichaelJoshuaWilliams sounds very safe, approaching commercial sounding. No real chances took, they stayed within their wheel house with this project imo. I enjoyed it though i still revisit some tracks.
I have youth on vinyl but my favourite songs are ring of chain and yellow love both from everybodys going to heaven. I dont feel this album is as good but by no means would i say its bad. Citizen standards are preety high.
