I have this watch and its a beauty. The yellow starburst dial is striking and the watch is very accurate. I agree that the crown is small and challenging to manipulate, but far from impossible. The bracelet is very comfortable. It's a great buy and I'm very pleased with it. Thank you for the review!
5:50 I'm curious if, like Seiko, "CASE CHINA" will be hidden on the inside of the caseback. If you have the tool, it's worth checking. This was the case with my Seiko SARB035 (returned) and Seiko SDBC101 (SOLD). They both claimed to be JDM, and deceitfully hid "CASE CHINA" inside the caseback. I'm not educated on Japan's rules regarding Made in Japan branding.
It might be. If I ever need to open up the case for another reason, I will look for it. Yes, my assumption is that it is assembled in China with Japanese parts. I looked at my other Citizen watches and they either only read Japan Movement, or Japan Movement Cased in China. Only my NB1050-59L reads Made in Japan.
Most watches that fail to call out details about the rear case back crystal usually indicates that it is just regular mineral crystal. It would be unlikely to receive a scratch since it is against your skin so maybe that is why most watch brands don't bother to include sapphire on the caseback
