Thank you so much for the video. I gifted my 16yr old son a Citizen watch for his birthday. My son manged to remove the pin with a thumb tack, but didn't know how to reinstall it. The pin would just fall right out. He had no idea the pipe/sleeve fell out from the band when he removed the pin. I didn't know where the pipe/sleeve was supposed to go until I watched this video. I then used a small needle nose plier to pick up the sleeve and insert it into the inner band opening. Not too fiddly. Got a hammer and knocked-in the pin on a wooden block with a towel to avoid scratches on the new watch. I'd say the most difficult part for me was aligning the pin to the last hole on the band. Now I can confidently say that I know how to resize Citizen bands with ease. (with household tools).
Thanks for posting this. Just received my new ProMaster Titanium Diver an hour ago and removed two links. Afterwards I noticed a couple of tiny tubes on my desk and had no idea what they were or where they went. Watching your vid set me straight and now I don't have to worry about the pins sliding out unexpectedly.
I have the same watch with the adjustable silicone strap. I guess I have to get help from Citizen. This is a common issue so you would think they would make some videos to solve these problems quickly. Thank you. Your video is helpful.
Thanks for your useful video. I was stuck with resizing my new Skyhawk blue angels strap. The pin trick was very important. I first thought it was broken when I open it😄 Finally could fix it with your help.🙏🏼
Thank you very much for the video! I wanted to shorten the strap of my Promaster Sky Eco Drive and found that the pins were no longer holding... Luckily I found the sleeve again and was able to close the strap again. 👍
Thank you for the video, I started to resize my citizen attesa and suddenly small pins fell out and I didn't know how to fix it, now I can finish the job hopefully 😅
3 points I'd like to make to help the process... 1) I recommend using a cellphone SD card port opening tool if you have one to push the pins out. 2) Use a placemat or towel to work on to keep from losing the tiny pin. 3) Use the SD card tool to skewer the pin to place it into the watch band link.
Can I give you one piece of advice? Disconnect (split) your wrist band at folding mechanisms by pushing spring-loaded pin in. That will split open wrist band. That will make it much easier to work with shortening or extending band with additional links. Then you just put back (only two micro adjusting on Citizen, unfortunately), spring-loaded pin, and Viola.
To keep the tiny pipes from falling out while trying to align the link and pin, take the pipe with some tweezers and dap just a tiny amount of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on it. That provides a harmless stickyness to the pipe that will keep it in place until your done.
I love Citizen watches but why they use this method of link retention is beyond me. I just purchased a CC3026-51H with two tone link in a 4-3 configuration, i honestly can't tell you how many ferrules ive lost. Screw and pin is a much neater and simpler system.
Hi. I have the same model but cannot get hold of the tubes and pins from Citizen Uk. They seem to be unavailable. I created a user account with them. How did you get hold of them from Citizen? Thanks.
