Thank you GW for covering this issue. This man spoke of security is totally misha. I have asked the same thing to all the collectors when I pay the tax but they said that no such policy exist. And how can we pay more than one tax in a day. The DMC has issued tenders randomly to as many people in different areas. This is the height of stupidity.

There's no security for vehicles even after payment of parking fees, and even on the parking fee receipts they've written that they're not responsible for your belongings. So, they shouldn't be collecting parking fees if they can't provide security.
Very much agree with this. They should give security to the vehicle if they will continue to collect parking fee..... Along with collection of fee better keep CCTV along with tax collector in all the parking lot in order to improve security......
The collector is saying the authority will look into the matter if scarch happens to the vehecel, if that is the case then it is very good. But I cannot belive, there should be a written circulation. The parking tax should not be imposed on typer shops. Govt. should come with parking appartment in order to avoid traffice jam. Just asking parking tax on the road is not justified.

Why DMC and KMC collecting tax on road when we all have already paid for road tax...instead they should build parking site/building and charged from the entry spot instead

Government of Nagaland issued a notice on tax free all over Nagaland however not only national workers are looting public but even dmc is looting us. Why actually do public need to pay parking fees. State government should see on this.
Come to dimapur you'll understand, we public are complaining about underground but this unions are looting us more than underground, parking tax, bazaar tax, shop tax, fish tax, chicken tax, pork tax, beef tax, tomato tax, potatoes tax, chilly tax, onions tax, Garlic tax, bike tax, Auto tax, etc etc
Just like one governement one taxation, it has to be one parking tax in a day for public. And separate location for vehicle owners owning shop in town. They park their cars from morning till night leaving no parking space for daily commuters for shopping. Salute to brother Sungkem.
Thank you, GW. You have finally addressed my longstanding concern about the parking tax fee. It should be a one-time charge for the day. Just think about it: if I have to park my vehicle in different spots and pay 20 rupees each time, I could end up spending 200 to 500 rupees in a single day just on parking taxes.
It happened to me too. Asked twice for parking tax Within 10 mins in different locations.. Once is enough for a day. Tax and Donation should be stopped😂
This is like NSCN(khongo) demanding from Mr. Angami contractor and AYO organizing pubic rally against taxation. So, this should also raise an issue. Don't blame only on underground group.
Subject to be corrected. Parking tax revenue are supposed to be used for funding infrastructural projects, such as building and maintaining parking facilities, roads and upgradation of public transportation. Therefore, the main question I would like to put forward here is that, are they i.e, the concerned authorities really implimenting or performing their main duties and resposibilites by collecting parking tax from the citizens? Instead go to the dmc officials and ask them about the transparency of the funds collected. When there is no proper maintainance of road and pathways, why won't the people be reluctant to pay?????? My sincere point of view 🙏
