Writing from UK, when I was on work permit though being an Indian national, I got the voting rights in UK as common wealth citizen whereas my colleagues from EU did not have the voting right in UK!. Those who criticize CAB got a lesson to learn from this special treatment of common wealth citizen get in UK, especially Mr Tharoor who knows all this type of special rights for some citizen even in UK due to it's history. I am an Assamese Hindu and I request my Indian brothers to support us by standing against this bill. We Assamese are currently 47% in our own state. We have become minority in our own state. This CAB bill is trying to suppress us; in tripura already internet and SMS is banned for raising tribal voices. India needs to understand we have always been economically weaker states and have lower fertility rate. In our current state, taking millions of refugees will destroy our indegenous heritange. Some immigrants are already demanding to ban Assamese language in Assam. And these illegal immigrants will never go and settle in any other Indian state, these illegal foreigner have their farms and bunglows already set from 1971 onwards in Assam,once legalized they won't move anywhere. This bill allowing non muslim minorities to became Indian citizenship not because they are non muslim but because they are persecuted and living as a second class citizens. The CAB has nothing to do with the muslims. And do anyone on this platform needs to be told the condition of minority in the Islamic countries of Pakistan , Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Just take the example of Aghan Sikhs , who were 50k in the 90s and now just 3k. Still there are crimes going on against Afghan Sikhs. Where these Sikhs can go ? Now come to Christians of Pakistan.I don't think the world had forgotten Asifa Bibi case. They are continuously being harassed by misusing the blasphemy laws of the islamic nation. Attacks on churches have also happened in past. More than these incidents , the systematic attempt to keep Christians backward in socio-economic sphere. Now come to the Buddhist of the Chittagong Hill Track of Bangladesh. Non -muslim population of CHT was 95% in 1950s but now it is about 50%. Why so ? Can we forget what happened with the Chakmas ? Lakhs and lakhs were persecuted and drove to India. Can someone still term the CAB as a majoritarian policy of a Hindu party ? Of course many will, those who are habituated. The another most popular line which is being used by the opportunist politicians to misguide the civil society of India. Are we harming any minority community of india by introducing CAB ? No. We are just helping the minorities in our neighbour. Is helping the persecuted against secularism? Now I will just repeat the words of Shimati Indira Gandhi , which she spoked during the Bangladesh liberation war of 1971. “To be silent during genocide is nothing but supporting the genocide”. If we won't do anything to stop the genocide , we are indirectly supporting the genocide. Let's not be the criminals by supporting the persecution of minorities of subcontinent.
