wow I just listened to the actual version of this song and couldn't stand it. But when Dallas sings it, it sounds incredible. I could listen to this over and over again.
His Hometown Glory cover is literally the best version ever of the song - and I'm including Adele's version in that statement. His version is fucking PERFECT!
Because you get it! xD "Not better, just different" is exactly why an artist decides to cover a song in their own style. If that idea was more popular in the music community, we wouldn't have genre wars and we'd begin to see a really awesome community of artists forming all over the world.
This cover has different feel to it than Kimbra's. Kimbra's is more rushed and a bit desperate as if the female is trying to hold on to a love thats slipping away. This cover is more loving and sweet because it sounds like a man is telling his girl he loves her and wants to be with her.
exactly. and his version of Love Don't Live Here Anymore, or his cover of Madonna's cover (I haven't heard her sing it), is my preferred version. The original is too happy.
at 2:49, I imagine those two dudes are thinking in their heads while they are watching this live something along the lines of, "Holy shit.....this is good"
Ummm you guys have heard the original version right? Not dissing this guy at all. He has a beautiful voice and definitely does an amazing job covering this, but in my opinion, is no where near better than the original. But you gotta love it when great artists cover other great artists.
I love dallas green and all of his songs....and I love this cover as well. But I have to disagree that this is better than the original. I do however see how someone can think that, as dallas is an amazing talent with an incredible voice.
As much as I love Dallas's rendition, Kimbra's Sing Sing studios performance is pretty phenomenal. Not keen on her album and the pop sound though- she should stick to the Jazz/Blues style.
