City Car On The Autobahn? Taking The Honda e Up To Max Speed! 

What’s normal life? My Honda e is my #1 car and my only car. Use it daily in the city as intended. Average km driven per year in EU is 12000km, that’s less than 40km/day. For most people a battery with 30kWh usable capacity is enough. I do longer travels of 350km 4-5 times/year and then have to fast-/rapid-charge at lower speeds two times. But I’m in no rush and that doesn’t bother me. Cheers :)

Mileage similar to that of an electric kickboard, durability like a toy This cannot be used for long-distance driving, and it is a concept of an electric kickboard that you ride around town. If you have an accident, you may be seriously injured or lose your life easily. It's so funny that this car, with no efficiency or durability at all, is priced similar to a Tesla Model 3.

Durability seems fine, unlike Tesla it actually comes with a reliable build quality and good paint from the factory without the need for 5 to 10 service center visits until it reaches its design state and all factory done malfunctions have been cleared out. No, this car is not designed for long distance driving. Intelligent people who want to use long distance electric travel board a train, enjoy the scenery while they quietly glide through the countryside at 220mph while getting in-seat service or take a nice leisurely walk to the dining car. It's crash safety is actually quite good, especially in a market where it has the normal size for a compact car and people, by and large, are not stupid enough to buy completely silly cars like a Ram 3500. After all, it is designed for Asian and European markets, not for the USA. And no, of course it is not priced similar to a Model 3. Yes, the top spec of the Honda e comes surprisingly close to the entry level bare bone model 3, but compared top level to top level there is a €30.000 price difference between both. I just wonder, where do you get the durability issue from? Considering especially that you seem to compare that to Tesla who are famous for their cars starting to fall apart before they even reach a customer. And even a simple pothole can mean the whole battery pack has to be swapped (according to Tesla) if you watch Rich Rebuilds. Unlike Tesla, Honda is actually a renowned car manufacturer that does not need to learn how to build cars from scratch, they have done it for 80 years or so.

Heh, the party of freedom, to the extreme, the libertarians are the ones who want all the benefits of personal freedom and none of the responsibilities to get there. AKA, freedom at everyone else's expense.

Our road roads could never handle unlimited speeds, let alone the complete lack of lane discipline from 99% of drivers. We have severe curves and bends, signage made for lower speed, and terrible road upkeep. The requirements for getting a license in America are limited to having a pulse (at the time of testing). I would love your system.

We can also import every car, doesn't have to be 25 years as long as it reaches the safety and emission standards. On the other hand we have to pay about €2000 for a drivers license and a gallon regular gas costs $7.06 (€1.58 per liter).

Yes it was a joy driving, when I was stationed there. You could alwaus tell when American service members becuase they would pass on the right. Super dangerous at anytime but especially at high speeds. I try to practice what I learned in Germany, here in the states, but it seems like I am the only one. I will say that people are finally starting to use thier signals for lane changing, more often than not.

Americans could never learn to drive properly since anyone with a pulse (or a payoff) can obtain a license. Overseas the driving testing is intense, and early drivers often have vehicle horsepower limits.

I gave up hoping people would drive according to the lane they're in in the US. Overtaking on the right has been liberating.

Those are overtaking I hate the most, when the car is too close, and you can already see the red light at the next intersection. Why can't car drivers just use the space or wait until there is enough space and don't do it when they have to stop in a few meters anyway.

I imported a European vehicle to Canada with a traffic alert system equipped radio (we never had it domestically). I've realized that about 1 in 4 radio stations here constantly broadcast with the European alert signal on, making the system useless for the few weird people like me with european-spec cars. Radio stations have enough problems broadcasting information following our own standards. In my area, I have one FM station that's been broadcasting the music info for the same song for 6 years, and several that broadcast the wrong time (I have an alarm clock that can automatically set the time based on FM signals... it's in manual mode now).

Going out on the autobahn with this toy car is a comedy This car is intended for short-distance city use, not long-distance use. I think I'll die instantly after a crash.

Ummm... It's only a prototype.

In most of Europe it is more important to find a parking spot than to drive long distances. So cars may be expensive, but thay may not be large. Nothing sucks more on european roads and cities than a giant US car.

"Durability like a toy" you lost everyone's respect there. No one cares about your opinion anymore. Honda is well known for durability and reliability

id4 and etron q4 Tech is almost the same. It depends in your configutation. i would prefer the Design of the Mustang mach e

@@ExperienceCN I only partially agree with you. Audi is a luxury brand and the Q4 is using Audi's MMI operating system, so I expect there to be a lot of differences. I like the Mach E but cancelled my order. The iD4 has a better brake transition and feel, and a way better charging curve. It also can tow my motorcycles. The Mach E can't and that's a deal breaker. I have a ID4 AWD on order, but I'm willing to pay for the Audi if it has more options.

@@ExperienceCN I don't think so. The ID.4 tech looks better. The Q4 carries the tired old e-tron interface that comes from the ICE MMI.

@@antoniosamuel819 I would say ride quality and general build quality they are same. But The Q4 will have more refined interior and better looks. The ID 4 comes with 3 years free charging on EA in the US, i m not sure about the Q4.
