That large green plant is called Sedum, a 3-season grower that you will love. Just cut it back to about 3 inches in early spring and let it grow lush again. This is probably 'Autumn Joy' variety with pink to rust blooms through the spring and summer. The birds will love the blooms as they turn to seeds in the fall.
