City Inside/Out: Can Seattle's growth roadmap tackle affordable housing challenge? 

I have accepted the reality as long as I live in Seattle, it will always be a room mate situation. I am thankful to have lived with fairly decent roommates so far. But cost of housing, even to rent is getting out of control. I moved in a shared living setup recently, after 4 months, I got an email from the property manager saying the rent is going up at end of my 10 month lease. Its already gone over 30% of my monthly income. My salary is not increasing, on top other living expenses like groceries and paying for prescriptions. At the same time, when I apply for a one bedroom unit at a low income apartment in the city where I work, they say I make too much, or people who make bad life choices get first dibs. Yet, I am paying these high taxes for people who made bad life choices to live in a city where they are not contributing anything. Look at all the places that have closed down like Bartells or the many restaurants and big stores like Target. Virtue signaling and drug/homeless industrial complex is making this place filled with lots of gaslighting.
