Closing all of the in-patient psych hospitals all over the United States has contributed to this problem. Because people with debilitating mental conditions don't handle out-patient drug instructions very well. They need to be supervised in a hospital.

How can 2+ million unskilled illegal immigrants find housing in the USA. Does this reduce low income housing?

People that are unskilled, don't speak the language well enough, and don't prioritize education will turn to other ways to survive. This current influx of illegal immigrants will be a repeat of the 1980s when MS-13 was established, but now it will be worse because of the shear numbers.

And another important Factor to bee considered is The Mental illness Crisis. Yes, there are alit of these Folks living on the Streets/ in Cars/ in Tents ETC. But Not Homes/ Apartments. NO stable and safe and Resident of Dwelling place. To House these People.And the ones who has Major Health issues and Mental Health issues .The Government can come up ! With Currency to send over to Other Countries ( facing a War Crisis ) .Why not Do, and take care and solve the dire of issues and needs of your own Country first ? It's really cool to see a local news station here in Phoenix do a special on this growing problem right here in the valley. Specifically in downtown I don't live too far away I'm about 5 minutes away from downtown right here in Alhambra and there's plenty of homeless people right here right off of I-17 and Bethany Home Road so I know what I'm talking about and I can understand how serious this issue is right now here in Phoenix. I don't think this little documentary did enough to really dive into how successful these other programs are like the one you mentioned out of Houston. Mental illness is one of the biggest issues with people that are homeless yes not all of them are on drugs but a vast majority of them are and all of them almost all of them have mental problems and they need to address this not just get them off the streets. I hope that the City of Phoenix does not take the approach that Los Angeles and San Francisco have taken by incentivizing homeless people by giving them drug paraphernalia so they can use illicit drugs. The problem with being homeless is that when government tries to do something about it their Solutions only increase the homelessness problem because it incentivizes people not to do anything for themselves since they are getting everything for free from these government-funded programs. That's the problem with the welfare system and it's the same thing that they are trying to do with the Homeless Problem across the United States if they do Implement that program that they are using in Houston I hope that is successful and actually deters more people from living on the streets and taking advantage of these programs that only incentivizing to continue to do what they are doing and I'm prove themselves.
@CyFi6
@CyFi6 2 года назад
How is what Houston is doing not incentivizing it? It gets them a nice place to stay without having to do anything. This would theoretically accelerate the demand for this free housing. The problem is most of these people want to benefit from society by using its resources but the don't want to or can't contribute back to it. That makes them a leech because they take without contributing. There is no place in society for this and there never will be. We have to find a way to incentivise getting these people to make a meaningful contribution to society and the incentives must cost less than what they end up contributing otherwise you are at a net native again. These people must be useful for something we have to figure out what on an individual level and get them to use that to contribute. If they don't want to or can't I really don't see how this can ever viabily be solved. If we provide a space for these people to be leeches we will just end up with more leeches.

I used to live off of 23rd and Bethany Home Rd. Back in 1982 I moved into a brand new complex and the rent for a one bedroom was 280 a month. The only way you are going to bring homeless populations down is by building more affordable housing.

But toilet's help the homeless...we need to help them anyway we can while their on the streets not use the excuse to wait ... they've been waiting.... waiting... waiting. More businesses, government and people need to get involved Now .these people are hurting and regardless of their situation they need compassion and love through Action Now. It should be against the law that rent has went up so much-this is abuse and oppression. Who is gaining from the rent going up? My heart goes out to these un-sheltered. I hope they add shower's too. Pass out toilet paper,water, paper towels, backpacks, tents flashlights etc. I've seen numerous service tents set up but only having water to actually hand out and resources on a piece of paper or pamphlet but actually no actual help. How much does this cost to have these service tents set up? That money 50 million needs to go directly to the homeless not the breakdown of how they've dispursed the funds. This breaks my heart. My adult children can't even get an apartment because rent is astronomical. I have 7 grandkids affected by this.

I'm watching this on RU-vid. And you're sure the homeless people and I see so much land there. That is empty, nothing but dirt. And you can't put tiny homes on. This, you don't have to have a bathroom in it. You can build a village there where you have a rude word. There's a restroom and where you. They can take a shower and end. A place where is set up for a kitchen? So they can bring food there and cook it. What in the hell's a matter? There's no excuse for this s***, none at all. You need to get with the people who live there and get together and raise money. To get this done, ask people to donate things. Like lumber frames to build a tiny house. A tiny house is not that big. There's gotta be somebody there. That's got some brains that can do tiny houses and put a tiny community together. Especially the ones that's got money. They can get help from the state to pay a certain amount of it and then they pay so much but the hell's a matter. I don't understand it, you people are driving me into a nut house.

A pretty good solution. If you get in touch with them, there's a guy that really working and making a difference. The baby boomers started in 1943 baby boomers, 2 19 64. Add it up, it's gonna get worse before it gets better. If somebody don't get off their a** and do something and they thing of it is, there's no job, so then you've got the teenagers. That's coming out of college. There's a lot of them in different states. That are homeless, you're the ones who spouse of 8 and drugs, and they're nothing but walking zombies and they exactly poor people. They just can't find Nothing to rent. Rap None of these people woke up one morning instead. Hey, I wanna be homeless and that ends

@@Mr.Spanky Yes and that's exactly the point. 🤦‍♀️ You don't just send people to ruin other places. Judging by your response this might be difficult for you to understand but the people that do live in that area, people that don't live stacked on top of each other in a cheek to cheek cramped city actually want to keep it that way. These are adults, not a problem to be pushed upon other people in the state. Phoenix has let this get way out of hand, this is the city of Phoenix's problem. If people are living illegally and doing illegal activity then they need to be handled accordingly not baby them and continue to ruin businesses for the sake of laziness and the lack of desire to do right by the people that are living and working in that area. This might be hard to hear but these are adults, doing drugs, doing major crimes, these aren't just a whole bunch of people that fell on hard times with rent... drug addicts and criminals aren't to just be pawned around the state to ruin areas that people work hard for. Is it sad that there are some people that just need help, absolutely. But there are free outlets for help... and they are not taking them. Period. They have MANY places to seek free shelter, food and assistance in looking for work and building resumes (yes all free to do so and are there specifically for homeless people) but guess what here's the kicker, they have to be able to pass a drug test... and these people are unwilling to do so. People act like there isn't free aid for them, like this is everyone's problem... these are full grown adults choosing to illegally live this way and it's destroying our state by us sitting on our thumbs and not handling this the way any other home squatter and criminal would be.
