There's nothing in the whole world that can out class our Irish Step-dancing, it's outstanding and head and shoulders above any other form of dance. Those guys and girls are a joy to behold..
The dancing is wonderful but this trend of white tape over the laces on girls poms looks just stupid. Illusion of dancing in socks.....then just dance in your socks. Plenty of years of past champions who didnt white tape their laces on their poms. Vanity!
It's about creating cleaner lines. Definitely a vanity thing. Welcome to competitive irish dance. I wish we could all just wear black dresses, no wigs, natural makeup but I also get that what we do is performance art and part of performance art is stage appeal. I just wish the intensity of fashion trends would simmer on the competitive level and focus more on technique and dancer ability.
