Sometimes, those of us who live here, including me, need to be reminded of what Geraldton has to offer. I've been here since 1966 and have seen Geraldton grow from what was essentially a little country town built on farming and fishing, into a large regional city that offers diversity in business, industry, sport, health care, recreation and tourism. This "Our Town" segment about Geraldton says it all - well done to the "Our Town" team. What a great place to live - Go Geraldton!
Australias best kept secret. I cant believe i bought a house on the Greenough river with Ocean views for less than half a million. It only takes me 4 hours on the Indian Ocean Drive to get there from Perth.Love this place !! Similar location in Perth would be well over a million dollars! The lay back beach lifestyle is number one and beats the crowds in Perth.
Well as far as Regional towns north of Perth go, I'd Geraldton would have the most to offer, as far as WA isolation goes, its a shame about the individuals that have no respect for our town and partake in vandalism, making areas of neighborhoods unpleasant etc, but I know most of the community try there best to make Geraldton inviting and beautiful despite certain individuals not having any intention or inclination on contributing to society , its got a lot of positive aspects to it, I was born and bred here and also have bought a house here so try to be positive with what progress had been achieved.
