'City of Stars' Scene | La La Land 

the reality of this film is something that hits me every time because the child in me doesn't want the story to go this way. Its so real and I hate it but its just so beautiful and I understand more and more each time i watch it

First to comment, this film is incredible and "City of Stars", both the duet and the solo by Ryan Gosling are some of my favorite songs from the film

I just returned from L.A. yesterday and watched "La La Land" again on board the 757 from LAX to EWR. It made me want to turn the plane around and go back. There is magic in the real place, for sure.

The absolute best love story set in a musical genre since West Side Story but i really loved this movie perfected masterpiece better! Ryan, Ryan 🔥💕🥰💫⭐

3:14 is so symbolic. The Rialto was where Mia and Seb's relationship effectively began when Mia ran to the Rialto to watch Rebel Without A Cause at Seb's invitation. She left her current relationship to start a new one with him. At this exact moment, the music quiets down and shifts from a hopeful tone to a somber one. Likewise, the following scenes change as well, showing Mia and Seb starting to lead separate lives despite living under the same roof, with modest colors signifying a more depressing mood. The Rialto being closed conveys how Mia and Seb's relationship has effectively closed. They have now begun living separate lives that are slowly becoming incompatible with each other. Every interaction they have after this song is conflict and disagreement; Seb's new music gig, the dinnertime argument, the bombed one-woman show, etc. Their relationship has closed along with the Rialto. Amazing foreshadowing!
