I've heard of a younger, smaller project in Central or South America and I'm sure there's others around the world and in 5 years time there'll be more and 10 years time even more and without any one person ever seeing the whole story it will become the world and the world will become it. Because it is in keeping with the Spirit of the Age. That Age is still in earliest beginnings. The last time the world was going through this level of development and growing pains, at the grandest scale, was 10,000 or 20,000 plus (I don't know) years ago during the time of the biblical Adam and Eve who is now nothing more than those names and a myth that's used to scare and control people through guilt and fear. And the next time the world will go through this much transformation and upheaval? Five hundred thousand years from now. We are coming of age, collectively, as humankind. We cannot perceive it because our awareness, our sphere of knowledge and experience is so limited to our little corner of the world, whether collectively or individually, like a child that knows nothing of the world outside of their home and the handful of places they go with their parents. We cannot perceive of the times in which we live, if we could we would either fall to our knees in joyous gratitude for the bounty of being born in this Day or we would fall to our knees in guilt and shame for the things we have done and have allowed to be done during ur time on this planet. Very few people have the consciousness required to be aware of the span of history, to break free of the social conventions of their time and realise that what seems so permanent to so many is just like sand castles on the beach. It seems so real and solid. Patriarchy, capitalism, materialism, systemic racism, it all seems like it towers above our heads or maybe they did to our ancestors, miles and miles into the sky, beyond the atmosphere even with impenetrable walls and doors but to some who can see and to the Creator who has no name because the creator is beyond all mortal names and words, sounds and syllables, to that transcendence that transcends our understanding of the concept, all of this is nothing but a moment, that rose and fell, like a child's rebellion at not getting that toy they so desperately wanted but an hour later had forgotten about entirely. This creator is not ignorant or indifferent to the sufferings of His creations, like someone who is creating a TV show with many seasons and characters, this creator, like the storyteller, this Creator cares about each character very deeply and knows each one of their struggles intimately but also sees the rise and fall of each crisis and victory, each empire and nation each institution and society as but different moving parts of this huge, sprawling and ever evolving universe whose ever growing complexity was encoded within its seemingly simple beginnings. Like when a youth leaves childhood behind and adulthood is gradually but sometimes painfully embraced over the period of adolescence, this will be another phase in our global evolution, this is the next chapter in our story, our continuance as the human race, the chosen guardians of our Creators creation. We have been ignorant of the purpose we were created for, for the longest time but that is because we were like a child. All around us there are signs and evidences that we are waking up and stepping up to take our place as the protectors and custodians of the universe, not to protect it from any other sentient lifeform but from anyone that would intend it harm but also to contribute to the ever evolving and never ending process of creation. Imagine, throughout the universe, on every planet, 'weapons' (forget what you currently understand this word to mean) of mass creation. In a few centuries time, when our world has become more united than anyone can even glimpse or imagine right now in, we will inhabit the solar system like we currently inhabit Earth. We may fracture temporarily but in time there will be system wide unity and then the circle of unity will spread even wide to include other systems and star clusters and inevitably other sentient lifeforms. These are my own ideas but they are inspired by many hours of studying the Writings of the Baha'i Faith. It is astonishing to see the progress they made so far. As they say in the final part there's still a lot to be done and clash of ideas and ideals. But i believe they can achieve unity and, sooner or later, discard money. If in small organizations around the world, you already can pay-it-back with your work, you can make that in a small city too. There's a tremendous group of individuals there who see themselves not for what they are but what they can achieve as one. That's so simple and it actually bugs my mind how one can think other way even in the western society. I really hope in the near future (already been searching in Tripadvisor xD) i could go visit for a couple weeks. I think it takes a lot to leave behind and be part of an experiment but i would happily contribute to it in a couple weeks.

Im amazed on how they turned a barren land into the greenery shown here yet.. it is backward (a few thousand years backwards) not to recognize money as means to make living better. When I say money, it's not necessarily the Fiat we're using today.

I think I can add a something to the two very different socio-economic groups: the lady says that the villagers are going here the aurovillians are taking off from, but aren't Aurovillians trying to get back to where the villagers are coming from in a way? I am not sure we can really put the evolution into two separate boxes. Maybe we need to aspire to 'more' until we discover that 'more' is not enough.

People are either craving money, or have enough of it not to worry, but then need to be cautious about flaunting it. It sounds very disorganized. People are not getting through the obstacles of culture differences. I've read on a blog that people actually rarely help each other there. I had wishful thinking about this... I wanted to visit... but everything I've read tells me this has failed. More than metaphysical spirit, it will take an organized utilitarian scientific spirit to produce a meaningful place of unity among humans.

It is too big to work as they were told it would. They all look like they want to get out of the trap they have found themselves in. In Kali Yuga corruption follows all groups and institutions like a wet blanket. Depending on interpretation of the "Mother" they espouse to be unique souls empowered in their own special talent. Yet they are crippled by politics, in fighting and a total loss of fresh perspective. In a phrase their balloon popped.

Do people at Auroville pay tax and abide by Indian Gov's Law ? If yes, it's not Utopia.

We keep hearing so many negative things abt auroville . I don't know whether to believe it or not .

So different places are not equally beautiful, so how do you decide who will have their home in the most wanted space, region, who will have the most amazing view? Im sure the greatest place should be communal, but still, every place is not equally beautiful. Perhaps the less attractive regions are rewarded with more luxurious space, while those who live in the greatest view will have a smaller home to share. Im just trying to adapt my mind to this way of thinking. I don't think that someone who was born privileged should have a castle on the most beautiful place and then everyone with less legacy live in the sewers to this king.
