So many post-Apo ambiences involving zombies never seemed to give you the feeling that this one does. It feels like you're literally sneaking by a whole horde of zombies instead of the zombies being heard from a distance, or they have music playing that's actually overtaking the sounds. It's perfect! Definitely would not want to fall asleep to this one though. Might end up having nightmares...

If you listen real close, you can hear a guy yelling about wanting a Twinkie.

"The guys at the office used to laugh at me when I hit the rifle range at lunch. Ain't so damn funny now, is it?"

Day 649 since the outbreak. Came downtown to find supplies. Bad idea to look here, the city is full of these things. There must not have been people here in a long time. I'm holed up in an old Antique Store. A place called Earl's. Herd must've heard me come in. They just keep wondering around outside and won't leave. They took down this woman an hour ago. There's a few of them still eating her. There's another group of them clustering in front of the door. They shouldn't be able to get in. I pushed a large bookshelf in front of it. It's been over 2 hours by now. I moved to the back office and killed a ghoul. Must've been the owner. He had a handgun with him, it still had a few rounds in it. The ones at the front door still won't leave, I almost wonder if they can smell me in here. I tried radioing back the camp for back up but nobody's answering. I'm hoping it's just a weak signal or something. 5 hours now. They still won't leave. I think even more of them have shown up. The sun has gone down and I can't sleep. Their moaning and growling is driving me crazy. It's so unnerving. To think these were just people once. There's a staircase. I'm going upstairs to see if I can find anything else there. Hopefully a place to sleep. OK I found a bed. And the noise is a little less stressful up here. This doesn't look like a typical bedroom. I'm assuming the ghoul I killed downstairs must've been hiding in this building. I'm going to try to get some sleep. Will there ever be an end to this nightmare? Day 651 Managed to escape the city. That herd in front of the Antique Store finally moved on. Found some supplies to take back. Thank God I didn't go through all that for nothing. 4 cans of peaches, 2 cans of spaghetti-O's some bottled water, even some morphine and a couple first-aid kits, even some books and a bottle of rum. I'm in my car right now on my way back to camp. Should be able to make it back on fumes. I'll make sure to tell Ray, the city has to be off limits from now on. It's just not worth the risk right now. I'm sure Frank will be happy with the rum. They're . . . they're all dead. Everyone in the camp. Torn to pieces. Gone. I'm back in my car now. Just sitting here in the car taking this all in. A herd must've come through while I was gone. There were 9 of us and now just me. I don't know what to do now. God help us. . . .

This is literally the ambiance of my nightmares. I am terrified of being eaten alive by zombies. Sometimes I have bad dreams where I'm running from zombies, and then they get me and my terror wakes me up. So, I might not be listening to this one for very long because it's TOO good...

Omg can we start a chain? “Final note you left behind” I’ll start: “Dear survivor, if your reading this, my name is Anna I came here with my brother Thomas....no he didn’t make it.... Thomas was caught off guard when we rounded the corner of this building... we came around the back so we didn’t see the “ Cougar-Creek Mall” display out front... He was grabbed from the side and the fucking things nails were already drawing blood before I heard his screams. I was in horror as two more- no thre- There was at horde. Right around the corner. At least two dozen came flooding into view, grabbing at his flesh and pulling at his hair. They tore him apart. I didn’t stay to watch...I know how it ends when they get you so what would be the point? Those that couldn’t reach Thomas came straight for me. I grabbed a chunk of concrete from the sidewalk and threw it into one of the shop windows. I ran inside and luckily it was a straight stretch to the escalators, I ran as hard as I could, up the frozen escalators I climbed- the dead clawing at my back - once I was at the top I had made some distance between us I ran until I ended up in this bookshop. There was an “employees only door“ slightly open thanks to an old soda can, I thought I had made it but as soon as I ran inside and turned to pull the door closed one of them was on the door. Before I had I chance to let go the bastards teeth was sunk into my hand. I shot it and slammed the door together. That was about 2 hours ago... my hand felt like it was on fire for a while but now it’s just numb. I guess the dead finally cleared out of your reading this, if not don’t worry this little office is secure. there were a few goodies lying around so I gathered them up to pass the time... and my bag, which I’m sure you found on the table already, is all yours, and I already emptied my pockets, the only thing on me as I write this is piece of paper, a dull ass pencil and my 9mm... with a single shot. ... you know I’ve been thinking a lot... you really forget about how Beautiful the world is when your so caught up fighting it... i miss the sun... *draws sun ☀️ * Anyways... boah.... just woke up from a nightmare, dreamt i was in a high plateaued city in Peru, when a zombie and bat-mutation epidemy hit the poeple, i was just wandering through some mountain village when a farmer attacked me, then i realized something is not right and just when a girl zombie approached me, i woke up

Shit this is day 3 of me being stuck in this God forsaken building I heard on the radio that the military will be using a10s to clear the area that I'm in I hear faint screaming from other survivors than me I looked outside and saw a exit rout through the parking garage but I'll have to clear the stairs before I go Day 4- I have only 2 days left to leave before they start dropping bombs on me I haven't cleared the stairs yet because I'm scared I don't want to be eaten damit I'll just do it today Day 5- I found a survivor in the 3rd floor I looked and they are clean of bites and scratches the zombies haven't let up they are getting closer I can hear them ripping apart survivors God it's getting to me now I can't take this much longer Day 6- the guy I found disappeared he left me a note saying he was getting supplies fuck I only have a couple days left before the military gets here I'm advising a plan now I'm getting out of here Day 7- my friend haven't come back yet I have only a bit of water and food left its raining I might catch some water just in case I hate this I miss my mom and sister Day 8- my friend came back he was scratched up and bitten I took him out but he got me I only have one bullet left I think I'll use it on me.... Day 9- I can feel it taking over the pain oh God save me please it hurts so much the bite it's coming to my brain the military base has been taken over no bombardment for the zombies Day 10- I'm loosing my eyesight I'm going to use this bullet on me oh God save my soul if anyone finds this read it please you were not alone find help get out of here

Let’s all be honest, we all assume we would be the last survivors, and that we wouldn’t die in the initial chaos, but obviously we would, I probably would unless it happens during the day where I’d be home as I work night shift, but even if we did who’s to say we wouldn’t just do something stupid when we realize what’s going on and it really sinks in that infected people are walking around eating healthy people, I would probably, no definitely freak out, and I like guns so I would probably be the reason there’s 367 zombies in a rural area after the gunshots stop.
