There were multiple failures the mother takes the biggest L, then the school, and then the kid, and the kid is the one that's going to end up paying for his neglectful mother, as well as his bad behaviors, as well as a broken system with 3 more years of his life. The school clearly has some sort of issue going on if this kid is ranked 62nd in his class. That means there are 58 kids who are failing even more, that's crazy. If this was the private sector this department would be entirely fired and rebuilt, there are very few places where you can perform that badly and still stay in business. That said, what kind of mother doesn't check on how their kid is doing in school? My mom nearly knocked my head off for getting a C in 9th grade, I don't have children yet, but when I do I can not imagine not wanting to know about their lives. Why have a child if you don't want anything to do with them? Anyway, tragic all around. The young man can get his GED and either enlist in the army or go to community college, he can still have a good life, but he'll suffer for not having a good mother whether just emotionally or in other ways.
@apathy11303
@apathy11303 3 года назад
@@User2718218 I'm not the exception. I'm the reality. The truth is that many people believe the lies of inequality and oppression so they do not perform to their fullest ability. Every time they turn on the TV they hear CNN and other media outlets telling them how their efforts won't matter because they'll be cheated somehow in the end. As a result of all of this negative brainwashing, you end up with a large group of people who under achieve. Yes, that may have been true at one point, but during my life (I'm 35), I've seen nothing but opportunity for minorities regardless of their situations. The issue bigger than opportunity, is people not taking advantage of their opportunity. Kids in the projects grow up being told that "they ain't sh!t" and that "they never will be sh!t." Whereas, kids in better areas are told to aim for the stars cause they can be anything... It's not rocket science how we loose people to the streets. Yes, I went to bad schools and lived in bad neighborhoods... That made me want to do better to get out. Even while in college, I had some professors speak down to me and tell me I should quit, but that made me work harder to earn an A in their class just so I could have the last laugh... I've been a fighter my whole life. From growing up as an orphan to street fighting and MMA... IDK... Maybe my fighting background gave me more resilience... When you are bloody and bruised, the only person that can save you in the ring is yourself... Life is very similar. So tell me, when you are being punched in the face, do you turtle up and quit? Or do you bite down on your mouthpiece and punch back? Lastly, the biggest falsehood that plague many is the lie that success is linear... Turbulence is real--very few aspects of life are linear. So yea... I grew up in the hood without parents... I've worked crappy jobs like McDonalds... Yet, still I kept it together and became a doctor. Its not impossible. It just takes EFFORT! Alot of it...

I BECAME a single parent of 2 AFTER DIVORCE. My ex lived in a different state. My oldest is autistic and the other is gifted & talented. 2 special needs boys is challenging. I was a full time student, had a full time job and was in the Army national guard. I later moved to a better career, working 50-65 hrs/week. Both of my kids were at school everyday. I always knew what was going on, checked for report cards and progess reports. Didn't miss anything, not even programs. Because I wanted more for them, I was never complacent nor did I sit around and let others take responsibility or blame for any of my actions, good or bad. Family and community support systems do helped a lot, especially when they know your goals and dreams.. Both of my young men are doing extremely well. My youngest is a college graduate with an awesome career. We don't know WHY she's a single mother. However, we do know, she didn't do her part. At the end of the day, the responsibility lies with her. Hopefully, she will become more proactive instead reactive with her other 2 children and its not too late for her son. That's just MY OPINION.

First of all not all babys are the product of consensual sex where the woman decides to "open her legs", Secondly telling a woman to not have sex is dehumanizing because that is an innate human feature. Next off, you contradicted your self by implying woman shouldn't have sex then you offer contraceptives for when they do is rhetorical. Furthermore, within certain demographics of people it is common for a higher presence of absentee fathers so you can't really blame the mother for the fathers absence except for the fact that she chose wrongly.

This whole situation is a pile of dog poop, If 58 other students in 1 class have less that a 0.13 GPA then thats clearly the schools fault for not teaching the students well In this case if your own son is failing and you thought he was passing completely unbeknownst to what was actually happening behind the scenes, that is 100% the parents fault!! In Maryland all counties have something called schoolmax family portal to keep track of what classes you have, grades, etc. Why cant the parent check that to try and atleast help out the student? Chances are he was skipping the classes, even when he was skipping, and was listed for the class, how come only 1 teacher of those 22 classes requested to meet the parent? Its up to the school to keep track of who is in their own class and take it up with the parent, Absolutely Obscene stuff, nobody in this entire situation is in the right And about the mentors part.... THE MENTORS R THERE IN THE SCHOOL! RIGHT THERE IN THE SCHOOL! He has been skipping classes and failing classes for 3 yrs yet the parent is still trying to ask for mentors and help?
