This is a POV biking tour of Emeryville, California. It starts at the Horton Landing Park, near the foot of the South Bayfront Bridge. This ride is primarily in the street and in bike lanes, so it is not recommended for beginning riders.
Future videos will return to Valencia, Spain and cover some new cities, such as Seattle, Portland, and Santa Barbara, CA.
BONUS INFORMATION FROM ROBERT PRINZ AT BIKE EAST BAY
A short new cycletrack from the South Bayfront Bridge to Shellmound as part of a grocery store development is being added, to be completed probably within a year
That tricky/wiggly segment from the Christie cycletrack past the freeway to Frontage Road is getting some updates to improve safety and access within a few years
A two way cycletrack on the south side of Powell from Frontage to the marina is also in the works, but no specific timeline yet
Not trail related, but the area to the south of Powell used to be known as the Emeryville mudflats where up until the 90s (when it was designated a bird sanctuary) artists created and installed driftwood sculptures. The mudflats art was featured in the film Harold and Maude from 1971.
SPECIAL THANKS
A HUGE thanks to Robert Prinz from Bike East Bay for taking the time to review the video and suggest factoids (in the video and in bonus section above).
And to my lovely bride for providing feedback.

I appreciate the kind works. These videos are a real labor of love. Emeryville is finishing up some new protected lanes, in addition to some recently completed projects, and I'll spotlight them when they are done.

Thank you. It's amazing how much they have accomplished and what they have in the pipeline. I plan to spotlight the city itself in a new style of video some time this year. I'd like to see a few of those projects be completed before making the video.

So much safer. 🤣 I grew up on the IE and never even thought about cruising the streets on a bike. I’ve heard it’s gotten better tho.

@@thegreenwaywithmac i am joking bro lol, ofc there is some bad neighborhoods in riverside like university ave which is known for homeless though i seen a bit less, eastside neighborhood which has gotten better and rarely hear gunshots but it use to be like the worse neighborhood in riverside, casa blanca i heard is bad because of the gangs but don't know how it is now, arlanza has good and bad parts la sierra good and bad. rubidoux use to be a part of riverside and was ghetto but now is in jurupa valley lastly downtown idk how it is and fairmount park not sure, canyon crest ucr belvedere heights orangecrest hillcrest wood crest wood streets are all beautiful, on par with rancho cucamonga and even better then some neighborhoods in rancho, it really just depends on neighborhoods i guess. because canyon crest imo looks better then say north cucamonga etc. some places in riverside can look like san bernardino kinda while some places in riverside can look like diamondbar kinda lol
