Thank you so much for uploading this. I used to spend countless nights up at 2 am on CP24 back in the late 1990s when it used to show Rewind and they never showed this, most of the City Pulse newscasts they aired were mostly from around the mid 1980s.
Did anyone notice he said Toronto was the centre of Canada!! Hahaha so it was Gord Martineau that got people thinking Toronto was the centre of the universe! City TV you're the best!!
And they’d play the opening theme from Rocky II when they went to commercial. But I didn’t even know that’s what it was until I watched Rocky II - on Citytv’s Great Movies of course.
The one thing I remember during the times I was on vacation and went to Toronto was seeing the Citypulse vehicles all over the city. When I got back to New York City in 1999 I started looking for the station on the internet.
Where can we see some full episodes from the 70's? I have only ever seen the 80's shows. CP24 would air these at 2am and I watched for years hoping they would show some 70's shows. I think I might have seen one show from '79 and was shocked! Nothing before that.
they need to show this to a journalist class and present day news stations.... less dancing and less entertainment as the lead and get back to the basics with facts and information not your personal opinions....
I always wondered what City’s coverage of that would be like. That kid was Portuguese from the Azores and I think it hit Toronto’s immigrant communities especially hard. Just awful. Btw the guy who killed him was denied parole again during the pandemic 2021i think
