Just played her and what I think is: dido is the superior civ with better bonuses and versatility EXCEPT - jong is crazy strong, therefore gitarja is meant to do a strictly naval domination build to reach jongs very fast and kill multiple civs. She also splits the cost by buying the quadrarimes with faith, then upgrading by gold at 50% discount and she doesnt need niter. - settling areas with little landmass. kampung helps you grow, and the remaining land tiles can host districts and they arent very weak because of the modest adjacency buff. - and I guess, she is less fragile in ancient era than dido? Preferred pantheon is almost guaranteed, free settler or a potentially good god of the sea and many are there. Dido scouts and protects the shore better, cities have higher cs but if you are greedy and fully want to use her settling, she will be quite vulnerable to hostile neighbours or barbs for some time.
One of my favorite Civs, I remember my first win was playing as many small islands as possible and a faith victory. She can do a lot of super big pushes or constant waves of missionaries.
I find Indonesia fascinating as they kept the bonus Amenity on Entertainment Complexes despite the first expansion bringing in the Water Park. That old trait adjacency design is what inspired the discrepancy for my Aragon/Naples unique buildings.
I don't agree with your assessment of Indonesia not being good for Culture due to their coastal bias. First of all, while National Parks are hella strong, they aren't the end all be all, there are still Great Works, Wonders, and (and this is the important part) Tourism improvements. The Seaside Resort is easily as strong as 1 tile of the 4 tile National Park, and you don't have to place them in a diamond shape. They do take up Coastal tiles which could be used to improve your districts but there is always plenty of coast to share. And then there is the Kampung, which is so easy to place down and get high food yields from, which translates to Tourism after Flight. It's important to note any source of additional food, such as the lighthouse or Huey, count towards the Kampung's Tourism. And even without National Parks, faith is still good for Rock Bands. Pretty good video overall, I too really love Indonesia as a Civ!
