Idk if it’s been said a lot but you being so open about how much you make from RU-vid and how to start a channel up is so genuine. Hard to find that these days, keep up the videos man we appreciate them out here from NC
Cam you are one of the few honest YTber's. Love the fact that you left the mistakes in. Nobody is perfect. I hope things work on the Cobra (felt so bad when that thing got caught in gear and panic mode set in). Molly for your oil ? Sweet .
never thought watching someone put on an aftermarket intercooler would be so entertaining 😂 keep up the great work, Cam! thank you for inspiring me to get my own type r
Nice Cam! The Type R is really coming along. I hope you get the HiRev folding mirrors. I think that’ll help a lot with parking in your garage. Also I would recommend Suma Performance side mirrors.
Hi Cam, for the crud, coming out of the hatch, you gotta dry the inside, also the inner lining of the doors. I use 2 Wall Mart towels, from the car department; one to dry and the other for the spots, and leave it dry. Once I dry all the outside, (sides and top) towels are wet, and have picked up dirt, so then I dry, those inner parts... And after a drive, drops still come out of the side mirrors, and get on the side, like Paul Walker's Eclipse. Gotta give it that last wipe, and theeen it will be ready for the show room.
The reading that is of interest here is IAT2, this is post intercooler measured at the intake manifold. IAT1 (listed as IAT) is measured at the MAF, that sensor does two in one. You see IAT1 readings higher since the air hasn’t been cooled yet, especially when idling. IAT1 will probably not change much or at all after this installation, but it is a good number to reference in order to calculate the delta between both readings. IAT2 on the other hand tells you the intercooler is doing it’s job, pull, after pull, after pull you should expect to have that number stay below IAT1, that’s when you know you’re not heat soaking. In your video you can clearly see the intercooler doing a marvelous job staying at or well below IAT1. Great video!! See you at Irwindale Speedway 🤙🏼
@@Camhill182 Hmm that’s odd, KTuner says otherwise. Just now I quickly unplugged my MAF and turned on my ignition without firing up the car. My IAT read (-40), plugged it right back in and read low 70’s, IAT2 never changed. Maybe you should do the same. Unless Hondata has those readings mapped differently on their app? This is a mystery… 🤔
Amazing video! I’m picking up my PRL intercooler tomorrow and I’m totally excited! Kinda crazy that I started my channel all about the Veloster N and now I’m a proud owner of a Type R. Thanks again for making this video it just gets me so excited. Those IAT’s are very good being mine get up to 140 in 92 degree weather!
Kinda new to the channel and to cars and general, really have been interested in the 9th and 10th gen civics, I really appreciate the helpfulness of your channel! Greetings from Chico CA!
Why must you remove the dealer sticker? Also, why do you still have temp plates? Tick tock, Cam! I’m glad that you use those car lifts when getting under your car. Your great-grandfather, Yvette’s dad, was killed while working on his vehicle; I guess he thought it was in park and got pinned between the front bumper and his garage. Very tragic. Safety first always.
another idea that you might want to include - is how you do your video editing - kinda of a start, middle and end of how you do things etc. I think that would be pretty cool overall. Regardless - good to see your channel growing as well as it is etc. :)
I use those ramps for years to change my oil. If you attempt the downpipe, make sure you spend the extra 50 or 60 bucks to buy replacement bolts in advance before even trying.
Ive got an intercooler ready to go on. Ive just added an Airtech induction kit and turbo induction pipe which brings a great sound when accelerating and lifting off, plus some performance improvements as the diameter is around 10mm larger. Ive a new exhaust waiting back in the UK so will fly that out hopefully next month.
Love watching your videos Cam! Always makes me excited when i get a notification that you posted! Car looks amazing. I have a 19 Accord 2.0 and seeing your type r and the modifications you have done so far makes me want to trade it in. Recently got a 2002 special edition mica yellow miata and have been enjoying that for a few weeks now.
Love your content literally have notifications just waiting for your vids. Would love to see a radiator upgrade. Keep the grind. Ik you’ll be able to do this 24/7. Love from Florida
All the right stuff, man. Making my more confident that I can just jump in and do some of these upgrades myself, eventually. Looking forward to the Cobra updates as well!
The intercooler was by far the best thing besides exhaust I finally got on and just got it on for a video. Can’t wait to see how your dp sounds! Those ramps are dope too
I live in Sacramento area as well, & the housing market is pretty bad right now. Trying to buy a house soon too, just keep grinding brotha! If u do read this comment, I hope we can meet at a car meet one day lol. I got a 2013 370z, maybe we can run it a few times (all i have so far is a catback)
hey dawg. thank you for watching! I will meet you soon at a car meet. I will post where I'm going next on my Instagram story. and I just ran a 370Z in my most recent video
you got more balls than i do, jacking my car up is sketch as hell. id run a few ppl before the downpipe just to see how it is before and after wouldnt mind seeing a near stock 5.0 run the R if i was in Cali id run you when your FBO in my FBO 14 5.0 but im in the lone star state awesome vid as always make sure you run an auto 5.0 MT82 trans sucks auto all the way
Love your content. If you would have put the OEM inter cooler on the scale with the AM after you knew the weight you could have subtracted the first weight from the second to get the correct weight. Keep up the great work.
Hey Cam! The Type R is coming along brother! Looking and sounding good man! If your interested in the off the shelf ceramic products, try out the chemical guys hydroslick ceramic coating. I think it’s a great product! I’m a big fan of the chemical guys product line, they also have great tutorial vids on here! Good luck bro! 👍🏼
Very impressed with how quick the Type R was during your pulls! Can't wait to see you race against some American Muscle 😎 I feel like a C5Z or C6 LS2 might still be a little out of reach. Only one way to find out!
Cam! Great video first of all! :-) Cheers on the new upgrade. However, I noticed something huge man. What gasket was used between pipping and new intercooler? I filtered through comments thinking someone MUST have mentioned this. Watched the parts over and over again, couldn't see a seal/ gasket or something to flange to keep it pressure air tight. Swapping a component like that requires a boost leak test ASAP. You're probably seeing higher temps from funky AFR's because those sides might not be sealed up 100%. Boost leaks are HUGE and can be detrimental to performance, fuel being pumped into engine/timing, AND combustion quality. Consider this for ANY turbo car in the middle of summer with 91* octane. Boost leak checks = must do after swapping piping/ intercooler, or gaskets associated to turbo/intake manifold. Cheers!
Solution gasket cut out to size, and each side black high temp rtv circle completely around the flange that way it is a PERFECT seal. (Make sure to let it sit a full 24 hours, then do one last tight snug on the bolts to finish it off. Little things like this (Unless I completed missed something) will help long term with fighting heat and spark ping.

Love you're content man. Getting my 2019 Si oil changed Monday and gonna check a Type R out while I wait. Really want to pick up a 2021 Camaro 2ss but they're hard to find where I'm at and not very practical for my commute.
If the trans comes out of the mustang...be a waste to not do a clutch while labor is free ...with your plans in future doubt oem clutch will love life!!👌 Can't wait to see what it takes to fix it keep it up
Wish I you would have posted this earlier I got my oil changed today at 2500 miles was reading you should do it early the first time. I guess that was wrong 🤦🏻♂️ o well love the content!
If you plan on keeping the type r forever you should get it paint correction and ceramic coated will preserve the paint and protect it from the elements
I know you mentioned the new ramps you have in an earlier video. I can’t seem to find it. Could you let me know what brand you use. Thank you. Great content.
@@jimmysapien9961 it already has one ,but upgrading it to a better quality and bigger one helps keep the turbo and engine cooler !!! Faster and faster longer
Hey man, I really like the videos, I was wondering if you can inform if doing mods like these will void the warranty. I just bought a catback and PRL HV Street Intake and was wondering if it will void my warranty on my new 2021 Type R
Hey bro which race ramps did you buy, I see online different degrees setting? Link of the correct ramp? I also have a type r with ramps that don’t work because of the bumper lip
