Thanks so much for your comment :) I just wanted to give you some encouragement… I don’t know if it helps to hear this, but I’d say about 80% of my playing ability has developed in only the last 3 years. I put a guitar in arms reach of my couch and I made a habit to have it in my hands most of the time if I wasn’t working! It helped that I was living alone in the middle of nowhere but I’m still amazed how far I came in that time. Less than that, really. Same for singing, this song in particular is deceptively difficult to sing, it really is. But my voice has also improved massively, I used to hate it but now it feels more like an instrument that I actually have control over and can improve over time. So play all the time (even while watching tv), sing all the time, record yourself to help you improve, do RU-vid tutorials, and come back to me in a couple of years.. I bet you’ll be pretty good :)
@@espertron thanks a lot! in term of singing I used to do the exact thing you're telling me but I've begginned to hate my voice so I think I kinda stopped practicing like before :,3 thanks for encouraging me, it means a lot! I'll keep all that in mind
I used my filming kit for this, so I have a Rode wireless lapel mic (RODELink) for my voice, and in the corner of the room where my amp is, I have a Rode shotgun mic pointing at it (Rode NGT-2). Using a Fireface 800 as the interface into my laptop.

thank you! It's played in drop D tuning, I got the chords off Ultimate guitar. The tab is here: tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/wye-oak/civilian-guitar-pro-1180839 but I'm not great at following tabs so I just sort of found my own way to play it fingerstyle. Once you've got that bottom E string tuned to a D, you'll be able to do the hammer on with the Em chord (the first chord) to make bit sound right.

Nah, I’m from south-west England. Does my singing sound Irish? Sometimes I slip into an accent (usually a bit American) while singing and I’m trying to get out of that habit
