Interesting how there seems to be three groups of defeat reactions: The accepting ones, the defiant ones, and the ones who literally curse you and pray for your end.
@@knidge.gaming I never ran into him (maybe because I didn't play _that_ much), so I didn't know there were Zulus in the game (and I learned about them after I started playing the game anyway) On another note, yesterday I got my first victory on a civ game (Civ 6 is the only one I played) xD
Seems there’s really 3 reactions -“Fair play ya got me” (Ambiorix, Alexander and Frederick) -“The world is over, my life was a lie!” (Basil, Tamar, Kublai and Montezuma) -“Go fuck yourself buddy” (Lady Six Sky, Eleanor and Kupe)
I mean, there’s also: “Welp I’m off to go kill myself now” (Cleopatra, Tokimune, Poundmaker) and “This is temporary, just trust me” (Wilhelmina, Menelik II, Victoria, Ba Trieu (which Ba Trieu I guess can also count for “go fuck yourself”))
One of the things I love about Civ 6 is that the defeat screens don't make you feel like you've won. Whenever I destroy an enemy civilization, I just feel a sense of loss.
Wilfrid Laurier's subtitles are totally wrong. French here, he speaks in French, and he says: "It was illusory to try to get along with you, but never will I regret standing for my people."
They did a similar thing with Harald Bluetooth in 5, from what I remember man says something about Ragnarok despite being converted to Christianity and then trying to convert Denmark and Norway as well lol
Firaxis are pretty spotty when it comes to their research. Plus, I think they really just wanted a stereotypical viking leader and just picked him up, thinking he fit the bill.
