forgot to show the leaked error photo at about 5:15: www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/1dafdwu/civ_vii_error_page_shows_gameplay/ Here it is promise it isn't malware :D
I'd like for them to have relatively few but much more unique leaders (in terms of abilities) at launch and slowly add more over the next 8~ years. Also hope my boy George "Watch me kill a ton" Washington makes a return.
Considering it is based on real history, they can't have some of those crazy gameplay changing uniques Endless Legend and Endless Space has. I think lack of that made Humankind mid in my eyes.
I used to be a die hard civ 5 player. Civ 6 grew on me and it’s actually my favorite now. I actually prefer Civ 5’s graphics over Civ 6. But I hope it is a mix of Civ 5 graphics with Civ 6 color pallet
My hopes and dreams that will be shattered because I’m lazy and never became a dev: -Placing districts or new iterations on strategic resources, because researching bronze working shouldn’t ruin your city plans -Concert hall building for great works of music, because needing to build a broadcast center for Mozart’s music never made sense. Hopefully great musicians are completely reworked -Historically accurate France with great musician points from holy site, return of Notre Dame and Napoleon -Multiple unique units for civs, because if I have to use Sherman’s and B24s as Germany again I’m gonna snap -Return of stealth bombers along side jet bombers, with a much higher production and maintenance cost -Tech tree rework, going for a line infantry push should be on the way to flight, not on the other side of the tree and made irrelevant with infantry as quickly as it is. I would like the eras to feel more natural for more historically accurate and interesting wars
I thought that was just to show off that there is gonna be some form of entertainment/theater square or something like that. Same with them showing a harbor/shipyard. I think it just means those are gonna be in the game. But yeah perhaps we get Marie Antoinette as a leader, who knows.
Thank goodness you caught the multiplatform mark of death at the end. I had to warn my modding associates that we really don't what the game will look like. That 404 screen is promising, but I think the flora is too well defined for what we'll likely get. The dark blues may indicate what the UI will look like; however, I don't think the statues are an accurate depiction of the leaders, at least for now. Maybe the units will match what we saw.
I am so happy that there is still a communitt for this amazing series... I've invested years of my adult life into this series, and I cant freaking wait!
I would argue with your opening, but yeah civ is very different from stellaris the only game i can think of similar to civ. I also hope that we get the wonder DaVinci's workshop again from at least im aware of civ 2
Bring back: - Golden ages - Diplomatic Victory - Workers alive - Building queue - World wonders - auto explore - More gritty/realistic leader animations Implement: -Vox populi UI - Vox populi AI - Vox populi difficulty - Vox populi 4 Unique components If you read it, yes, I actually just want Civ 5 with new features and a new coat of paint.
I'm honestly surprised that literally anyone "enjoyed" this trailer. Civ 7 was already announced. It's not like we didn't know the game was in development. The ONLY information this trailer gives that is beyond speculation is a release date (hardly) and a date where we can actually see what the game will be (3 months from now).
Original CIv did not have Japan. It had: White: Rome, Russia Blue: France, Germany Green: Babylon, Zulu Yellow: Egypt, Aztecs Magenta: Greece, England Cyan: China, America Grey: India, Mongols Civ2 also have on the poster some civs that I don't remember from my CD. It added Celts (white), Vikings (blue), Japan (green), Spain (yellow), Carthage (orange), Persia (cyan), Sioux (purple). At least that's how it was on my CD... The way the civs were divided between 7 "players" helps me remember.
Just before the video pans up the building leading to the rocket, in the city below there are three religious buildings, a mosque, a monastery and a pagoda? So yeah, they haven’t forgot that in the trailer, let alone the future of the game either. Also, I would love to be able to zoom into a city again to see all the different buildings and or wonders that were built
Civ / leaders wishlist for Vanilla: 1. Rome - Marcus Aurelius 2. Greece - Solon of Athens 3. Macedon - Alexander 4. Egypt - Khufu 5. England - Alfred the Great 6. France - Charles V 7. Germany - Otto von Bismarck 8. Spain - Phillip II 9. Russia - Ivan the Terrible 10. Persia - Xerxes 11. Arabia - Harun Al Rashid 12. Palmyra - Zenobia 13. Benin - India 14. Ethiopia - Menelik II 15. India - Indira Gandhi 16. China - Taizong of Tang 17. Japan - Toyotomi Hideyoshi 18. Philippines - Ferdinand Marcos (I'm Filipino. F off kakampinks) 19. Burma - Bayinnaung 20. America - Thomas Jefferson (last of Mt Rushmore presidents who hasn't appeared in civ yet) 21. Aztec - Ahuitzotl 22. Maya - Jasaw Chan Kawi'il - 23. Inca - Pachacuti 24. Brazil - Pedro I
Ferdinand Marcos? Why? I think Rizal, Emilio, Bonifacio, or hell even Manuel L. Quezon is more qualified for representing our country, and honestly I think Bonifacio would fit that role nicely with having the Katipunan as our UU and with him literally being the father of the KKK, so it would make more thematical sense to do so, and the Philippines is ALWAYS represented by the City State of Manila, so the only chance we might get it as a Civilization is through DLC, definitely won't be in the base game unless they want to do something different for some reason.
@@quirinoguy8665 well problem is that, aside from Emilio, none of them lead a governing body. The KKK was a revolutionary assembly, not a government. Emilio Aguinaldo also wouldn't best represent us since he was immediately disposed by the Americans. We could look at pre-Hispanic Philippines but we know too little of them. Marcos is the best choice.
I will be happy if the next game is actually be stable. Civ 6 on laptop level hardware and guaranteed to crash at least 3 times per game and a gaming PC has at least a 75% chance to crash at least once.
True lmao, CIV 5 barely crashes on my crappy Thinkpad and now, Gaming PC, part of the reason why I didn't play CIV 6 is because my games kept crashing! So what if I wanted to fight a hyperwar in Pangea map with all the Civs? Why the hell does my game keep crashing? Meanwhile If I do that in CIV 5, it's apparently a-okay! Well to be fair if you do that in CIV 5, you get raped pretty hard.
I would not be surprised if Create a Leader is finally introduced into the game. with the advancement of AI you could create a leader in mins then tweak them to your liking. Would have been great to Create a Mary of Scots and played against Phillip, CDM & Liz. Or Sherman one-on-one vs Napoleon. I love the Mod community in Civ, just not too many interested in making leaders.
Honestly, I'm hoping that instead of having set leaders, you choose a civilization and have a starting leader. Then, as you advance, the leader is replaced by new leaders, and the civ's bonuses increase.
Can`t wait for this. Thanks for your impressions and your content. You still sound like a young Trump!😂 Greetz from Switzerland! I started recording Civ6/german version some months ago. Aiming at CivLifeR Status in german-speaking Europe😅
As someone who just completed their dlc collection for Civ and dishonouring Caesers existence with my many failures of attempts all in vein due to not being able to catch up to other civs even with 10 cities or more that may even have a few early cities from an early war. No I don’t do meth.
Civ 6 was kinda mid. I’ve just kept playing 5. Hope this one has good scenarios. The trouble is they can’t include most historical events anymore for political reasons. Like, we’ll never again see scenarios like the colonization of Africa, the colonization of the new world, and the crusades, all of which were awesome scenarios from Civ 5. I dread the day when our only scenarios are “use UN leverage to end global warming” or “end the caste system in India.” At least we got pirates and the battle royale mode in 6.
I was just thinking something similar. I picked a crappy time to start loving this game 😮💨 I also play primarily on a Switch and am, perhaps unsurprisingly, not a huge fan of realistic graphics. I accept that there are arguments to be made for them but my first play through had me corralling elephants in Denmark... Realism just isn't a huge concern for me. Not to mention "realistic" graphics are harder on Devs as well as gamers and they generally age like milk so... 🤷🏻♀️ Why bother?
It’s never not dogshit at the beginning it will be just like civ6 where most people returned to5 until multiple dlc’s so we will probably be playing 6 for a bit longer once 7 releases
I disagree with the dogshit at launch, firaxis/2k would have seen what a pile of crap cities skylines 2 is and release a finished vanilla game. January 2025 is my optimistic prediction
No way Civ 7 is coming on Switch, when Nintendo is already hinting at a successor for the Switch which will be announced before March 2025, so basically the game is going to be gimped for pretty much no reason
Go tell Firaxis to make a Philippines Civ instead of just representing it with the City State of Manila this time then, because if we can't get the Czechs, I don't think we can get the Philippines any time soon, but it would be pretty amazing, our unique unit would ABSOLUTELY be the Katipuneros and it would probably have rough terrain bonuses or for every kill you gain Golden Age points bonuses just like the Minutemen in Civ 5, maybe even both or something new entirely, and Andres Bonifacio would be the best person to represent us most definitely.
I unrealistically hope that the playable leaders will be confined to their relevant eras. Americans and Australians have no business being in the Stone Age. Players should be able to start with one civ and then branch off into other civs when conditions are met. Like celts - Anglo saxons - British - American.
Ehh that’s way to close to humankind’s mechanics, which while initially fun is really bad for pvp and balance in general and somthing I hope they don’t mess with the combat would be interesting to take a whack at
But how am I supposed to have a stone age America murder and conquer Rome for the funny? That's like removing part of the charm of Civilization, it isn't a realistic historical simulator, sure it gets inspiration from history but it isn't mean to be an ACTUAL simulation.
Naw, diplomacy and economy come first. As a CIVILIZATION game it should be focused on building CIVILIZATION. Not destroying it. If you want a game with good combat go play an RTS or TOTAL WAR games. War in civ games should only be for when diplomacy fails or there's no other ways for you to prosper. Like playing tall, colonizing etc.
Disagree. All of their competitors have dropped the ball on trying to nail the turn based square/hexagon civilization/empire building strategy game genre.
Literally a teaser with no actual gameplay and dudes intro includes "why he thinks the game is going to be DOGSHIT at launch" Welp, I can already tell your review is DOGSHIT at launch.
world congress and climate were terrible, and ruined cciv6 for me, I miss colonies from earlier games, and I think maps have to be far, far bigger, and then AI needs improving,
Realistic graphics for the civ franchise sucks, only 5 had (relatively) realistic graphics and they already look like fucking dog shit in comparison to the stylized, cartoon graphics of literally every other civ game
