Its a weird issue thats for sure. I had one iced up, told him to bring it inside to warm up to check it out, once i got there it was all melted and started up fine
Hi. i got audi a6 2.7 tdi 2009, fuel pressure are all good, no codes, if stay couple off hours will start for 2s only, tey with easy start engine nearly to stop to turn over, tey with exhaust disconnect the same, any suggestions?
I'm trying to DIY mine with my limited diesel knowledge okay no diesel knowledge and limited automotive knowledge in general and everything is telling me I should replace the high pressure fuel pump and injectors it failed but something's telling me it's not because I pulled what I could to see what metal flakes are in the the fuel and it there is some metal flakes but nowhere near what I would call catastrophic I mean just they're more like speckles I mean just like very little glare to it I could see some shine in the fuel but nothing no chunks in the fuel filter no chunks anywhere else just very microscopic pieces of metal if anything could that kill the injectors
If youve got access to vcds/quality scan tool check rail pressure while cranking. It doesn't take much to mess the pump up and wreck injectors. A speckle here or there isn't cause for concern but if theres quite a few especially in the pump metering valve then thats not good
Thank you very much for sharing. I'm going through a similar problem on my vectra 1.9 cdti 150bhp. I have no fuel at the injectors ( refurbished hpp), fuel sender unit works, injectors recently refurbished. Your video just give me a few more ideas to check out tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the trouble to show this, you give some really valuable advice.. It would have taken me a while to think about looking in the turbo to diagnose the no start.
I had a crank no start on my cjaa. Was really cold here. After the 4th try i smelled something burning and stopped. Coming back i now have a no crank. Just hear a click from the relay. Terminal 15 error in system. Swapped ignition switch and nothing...
@Skinnflute I hope so. I was nervous about how cold it was and so much talk of intercooler freezing. But pulled off my bottom pipe today and no water or ice. So, looks like I burned the starter up.
Hey man i have this code p0016 and it says bank 1 cmp sensor (g40) engine speed sensor (g28) incorrect correlation and ive been trying to find a problem forever, i just need help on where to even start
Incorrect correlation would tell me it’s out of time, I’d try checking out the cam crank and pump timing and make sure it’s spot on. If you don’t know when the belt was done last it should get the kit replaces
Multiple possibilities, low pressure fuel pumps or filter failure, pump failure, injector failure, pressure sensor failure. Need to pull the metering valve and see if there metallic in there if so everything needs replaced. If not command the pumps on and see if they’re working. Lastly I’d be looking at rail pressure sensor
Hey, great video thanks. I recently did a fuel filter change on my 2013 Golf CJAA. I used VCDS etc as I normally have done in the past. After the filter change, it wouldn't turn over to start. I thought there was air in the line and I even cracked the fuel unions thinking I was air locked. Could it be the lift pump?
Hey I have a 204700 fault and basically it says redundant injector bank one open or something like that. Look up info saying ecm has detected no voltage. Now I’ve checked out the wiring on the injectors and they’re not grounded anywhere in the chassis or engine block. Wires run all the way to the ecm, I believe. Back probed all wires at the connector and there is no voltage coming from there. Have you or anyone reading this encountered something like this? Any info be appreciated. I don’t want to replace an ecm if there’s another way to go about it.
I haven’t ran into that no, but I have ran into (on a vr6) that the injectors get a common power from the ecu and each individual injector is grounded at the ecu so it cuts ground to stop injection. I’d also look over the harness thoroughly, there’s some less then ideal areas that might chaff
@@JoshsJettas For sure I’m still working on it at the moment, I’ve looked at timing, cam, crank sensors, fuel supply, and I’ve told the boss it all points to the ecm no power coming from there. Checked grounds and power to ecm all good, I also checked injectors omhs is about 180 on all so I believe their good. I hope to run into some luck soon, thanks for replying i appreciate it. 👍
After removing the clamp holding the down pipe is it just supposed to fall like in the video or is there extra bolts holding it from under? I removed the clamp and the mf downpipe is stuck onto the turbo
My 2013 golf TDI won't start after replacing an oil pan. Tried the fuel meter/control valve, looks fine. Removed the boot, which was hard, can't get it back on. Don't think it's the turbo. Do you have any other ideas? It has a tune. Don't know hot to get timing belt cover off there's no space to pull it off so now I'm just drinkin. Thanks for the video
That’s odd, no wiring or connectors removed to pull the pan? The crank position sensor reads off the rear main, no chances it was cracked or damaged? Would be pretty coincidental if there was another issue.
No wiring, the only thing I disconnected was the ~2.5" tube in the back right if you are laying underneath, I had to pull it out of the way with a long piece of duct tape and then put it back together. I will check the sensor for damage.@@JoshsJettas
hello. please help me. i have Audi A3 2.0 tdi 2004. in the morning it has a hard start. after first start, its fine and start normally. if let it cool for 2 3 hours. have the same problem. i replacment, injector seals, glow plug, 2 injector, and no solutions.. in the engine check light shows only Egr Valve. please help me
hey bud i know this is a year old but i was wondering if you could help me i have a 2011 jetta tdi 2.0 an i have it staged one tuned with darkside development 3in down pipe now my car has been driving great i went to california from texas an back about three weeks ago now about 4days ago i was a bit low on fuel i stopped at a buddys an went to start it an crank no start no codes i do have gloplug light blinking but when cranking only ive put fuel manualy ran the rear pump im getting fuel i cant seem to figure this out can you help
If the glowplug lights flashing there’s a code there somewhere? What are you using to scan it? I’d pull the metering valve personally and check for shavings
im have yet to run a scan but no engine light just gloplug when cranking ive check fuel filter housing as well as the metering valve no shavings could i possibly have air in system thanks for the reply by the way im really stumped@@JoshsJettas
If you look them up on Ross tech they come up as regen frequency and egr cooler efficiency. Does your in cabin heat work well on the passenger side vs drivers? Usually the heater core plugs up and limits coolant flow through the egr cooler. I’m wondering if the egr efficiency code is causes excessive nox regens resulting in running rich and plugging the dpf up.
Cjaa is the engine code, which if your in North America that’s what yours will have. Dpf is maybe what you heard? Which is diesel particulate filter, which can sometimes get restricted with ash and soot
Bro thank u so f**king much! I asked around and nobody seems to know wth these codes mean. I’m straight green, just entering the mechanical world industry. I got tired of people over pricing me for something I can do at home. How do I tell the autozone guy about this specific filter?
Thanks for sharing the diagnostic steps! Do we get the future repair/replacement video too? I'd be excited to see that. Also, would you consider an upgrade, or just a stock replacement?
I did shoot a quick replacement video, hoping to edit it next week. I was given a used oem turbo to install so we’ll see how long it lasts, with it already being tuned it would be a good candidate for a cr170 turbo swap.
I’ve had two cjaa’s now with broken shafts, this one had 175k km so a touch over 100k miles, second one is at 265k km. Not sure if I’m just the bad luck or if it’s fairly common.
