Just wish Jake ran his business to the high standards that he tries to do with his products. If someone else could make the stuff he does with quality service across the board, he’d be in trouble. His stuff for the most part is the best choice for quality.
Great video, and will come in handy for future builds thx! I personally have the CK brake in my turbo car, and have used it both on the street and at the track. Very happy with it and no issues to report. I have no experience with the Jakes brake. Just wanted to post my experience on the product fwiw😎
fantastic information, thanks for breaking it down so well. I just installed one of the two in a friends trans and it locked the brake up in every gear. We sent it back to find out if there's an issue with the brake or my trans build
This is a great comparo video. Sidenote: hopefully someone can shed some light on CK seeming to be unavailable lately. Hoping things are okay over there.
Have Both, But CK Performance work much better than Jakes and also Ck Have a good technical support than Jakes, and better components, i have bad experience with jakes D3 trans brake with Holley Efi, they said that the problem was the Holley Efi, but when some here do the troubleshooting, he found the bad pressure switch installed on jakes D3 trans Brake..The CK was just install it and Run...
I have a CK D3 trans brake. I'm doing a freshen up on the transmission and found there is no filter for the actuator feed in my valve body. I see in your video here that there is no filter in your CK trans brake. I spoke with Chris at CK and he said the transmission would not work without the filter, which really doesn't make sense to me, since removing the filter would make no escape for the fluid. Did you remove the filter out of yours, or did yours come supplied with no filter (which, I think, is the way mine came)?
It does shift normally, which is the main desire for a D3. Auto ahift with trans brake. It also dual feeds the direct drum which is a plus, and there's some other upgraded circuits. But no, it's mainly for trans brake. If I didn't want trans brake I would use jakes recal kit and dual feed internally with upgrade intermediate snap ring.
I installed the CK D321 on my Monte. Starting to have issues with reverse dragging the engine down as well as when I hit the button for the brake. Not quite sure what's going on with that. Any suggestions?
@@812racing There was an issue with my 2 step tune pulling timing when pulling it into reverse. Fixed that with a TPS requirement. Second issue wasn’t really resolved but I’ve found that if I warm it up past 72 degrees before I pull it into drive, there’s no issue.
@@812racing I like it so far. Transbrake works nice and the bump button I have works good too. I haven’t had much luck with my torque converter yet but circle d is working with me on it.
@@davereith54 that’s good. Might look into getting one when I have my trans built. How much power you pushing thru your car? And who did the transmission and if you know what all has been done to it. Thanks!
