Bob Morton dude I am binge watching these videos right now I wish I had an instructor like you first time you a legend you got the patience of a saint man
19:10 "I feel like I'm going too slow for the gear that I'm in or am I not?" "Give it a little bit more gas and see how it feels" "I feel like I'm going 100mph". That's funny.
***** Well I suppose if they took on new pupils and looked terrified out of their wits and have eye lid twitches it wouldn't look too optimistic, would it?
This has been more helpful than my own lessons. You know they say "there are no stupid questions" but the answers always sound a lot more patronising than helpful. This guy truly doesn't act like there are no stupid questions, and you're not afraid to ask.
What a great instructor! Very reassuring, attention to detail, other instructors should be made to watch you! I'm on my 3rd different instructor now, without slandering them, lets say they aren't very good.
rockys201 comment was spot on! Bob is a nice guy and he's genuine. Through the years I discovered the essential things for a driving instructor to invoke regardless if you're from the UK or Southern California is being nice, then it's being able to communicate in a way that is easy to understand and finally to have an abundance of knowledge to answer any question the student may ask. Bob definitely knows how to conduct in a professional manner and I'm sure if that camera was not there he would still apply the same professionalism because he enjoys what he doing. Sadly, though there are some instructors that don't have this method and those are the ones that are there only to collect a payment. KUDOS TO BOB!
He seems like the best instructor a person could have! So patient and motivational while giving appropriate knowledge when required. Wish he was my instructor lol
You two are so lovely. I’m isolating for two weeks and came across your first lesson. I just love her northern accent! And he seems such a lovely calm instructor. A joy to watch. I got excited when she went into 4th bless her 😊
I tip my instructor gave me during my driving lessons, to avoid going into 1st instead of 3rd was to push the gear level rather than grabbing hold of it, as you push up and out of 2nd, it will return to natural position, then it's just straight up to 3rd, made it really easy and I never made the mistake of going into 1st ever again.
Hi Claire and Bob. Thank you for all the lovely videos. Bob you need to start training other instructors as you are the best. especially with your patience and calmness it makes Claire relax, concetrate and learn more without any fear of failing or making mistakes. you make her feel so relaxed and easy for her to learn. I'm on this stage where I find it hard to change gears at the same time dealing with clutch and gas pedal. I always end up messing up either I forget to press down the clutch and the car switch goes off. It's so frustrating. so by watching this video I see Claire dint find it hard. she said she thought it was going to be the hardest but it's very easy. Welldone Claire.
I learnt to drive years ago and gave up because I just couldn't 'get it' and using 3 different instructor's, two of which shouted at me, for normal learner mistakes. I had mostly blamed myself for giving it up, but many years later I've started again and I'm so much happier and find it much easier, with my current instructor! She's as calm as Bob, as informative and hilarious! I used to hate driving lessons, but can't wait for them now! She's taught me so much in so little time and really easy techniques and little sayings that help me remember. If you are struggling people, please question if it's you, or the instructor. If you feel happy and relaxed, you will honestly pick it up far easier.
I've found this series of videos useful already, after my instructor told me to find some videos to occupy my learning needs between lessons. I found that half my first lesson's objective was unlearning what you mentioned about frowning upon crossing your hands. Gaming with a steering wheel created that habit of crossing over, and so the Push Pull technique is a 2 step lesson for me rather than just learning it like Claire did.
This guy by far is the best instructor I've ever seen. What patients when I was learning my parents taught me and they where not as patient and didn't understand why I could t get it right. I said you guys been driving for years I just started and I think people forget that they forget yea it's easy for them but I've never done it I will mess up a lot plus everyone learns at there own pace. My parents where patient but not as much as this guy man he's really professional
Love watching these back a few years ago l gave up driving simply because l thought l can't do this. I had the wrong instructor for me and the new one , l've started again since 2016 shes bringing me back to basics which none of them havent done as well and when she feels like l'm ready moves me on to the next stage
This instructor is gold, Great personlatey so polite, paitent , got this girl quite progressed in only her scond lesson and i belive she passed first time if i remember, great guy , i know its a bit ago, hopefully hes still doing what he loves
I wish I had this long straight road and quiet car park in London. I had to deal with other cars, people, steering, junctions and a bit of gears today in my 1st lesson as well as clutch control😱😎, was fun but now my brain hurts lol. Great videos by the way!
Wow, you seem like a fantastic instructor. I've booked my test for the end of this month so i'm watching a couple of videos just to cram everything in that I may have missed!
Just had my first lesson! Did cockpit drill + starting and stopping + 1st and 2nd gear changing + roundabouts and indicators. Loved it. Had a good constant drive and dealt with roundabouts yet never been in a car before. I know this sounds rubbish but I’m really proud. :)
I am really enjoying watching these videos. although I have recently started lessons I felt that in my head I hadn't digested what I was doing with my feet etc. because I am a visual learner I was struggling with just doing what my instructor was telling me to do. I have been on main roads, junctions and roundabouts but it wasn't registering. your videos are helping me immensely and I bought a book to help me visualize the actions that I have been doing. I tried to order your material online but there was no option for isle of man in the drop down box. very patient teacher you are and I wish I lived nearby so I could learn with you. Thankyou.
I am a verbal learner. which is why I find learning to drive so hard. You could write a Pulitzer Prize winning book on diving and still not be able to drive. Claire seems to be picking it up well, and I think that's because she is a kinesthetic learner.
i changed my instuctor after 5 lessons with him because he talked too much and i did not have time to practice on driving seat. now i have a new instructor, he let me go on the street straightway. I love it and just follow his instructions while driving on the road. it is very natural way to learn, i LOVE IT . As for learning theory, i can do at home and watch the driving videos on youtube by myself. .
@@SJ-zv3gq uhm what is your instructor gonna do about that.. if you wanted a quiet street you should've paid an hour more to go there or just asked to pick you up there. If you live in a big city then he can't do anything about it
What a good instructor! Paying attention to every detail, congratulating her along the way where she does well, asking her questions..... others are crap, they are on phone when u r driving!😫
hi Bob, i live in nigeria where most ppl drive very rough here n do not follow signs. i really love ur driving lesson videos, though i had driven like three times am still very scared to drive on d highway but ur video are really of help to me now. Pls keep up the good work. Do u also have video teaching how to drive an automatic vehicle?
im 13 years old 4 years until I can take my driving test, Bob explains everything greatly, I am looking at stuff like this now because I would just like too know everything when i take my test, my mother told me also doing this willl relieve me of pressure when the time comes.
Just got myself a new driving instructor after having lessons for 9 months literally driving with not 1 manoeuvre practised! Love Bob, wish you was in Merseyside!
does this company work within the Telford area? I am very interested in starting to take lessons and watching some of these videos makes me feel more comfortable to go with you guys.
DcDane good luck dude wish you best of luck when you take your test pal just take everything in your stride and your instructor will always help and like this guy says your always safe with an instructor in the car.... best of luck dude
I've just had my second lesson and my instructor says I'm doing better than most on their second lesson. I've drove home today in traffic, did 5 roundabouts, traffic lights and got up to fourth gear :D
I've had my third lesson today and drove in traffic for the full hour. people learn at different rates and so far I'm going very well, I expect I'll mess up at some point.
really enjoying watching these videos, starting lessons soon myself, going to sign up with LDC as i've been really impressed with the style of learning i've seen on here, wish bob taught in my area!!
She's a very responsive pupil. They are not all like that. It's shame we could not see a more difficult pupil. I have very few as good as this on a second lesson. Thanks for the upload though. Some good teaching points here. I like Bobs style.
I learned to drive and passed first time ...but never drove since!! {do not do this..my reason was financial and relying on other drivers in family} So had some 'refreshers' recently with an Auto teacher, despite passing Manual.. But he was AWFUL. Absolute confidence destroyer and negative, and very, very aggressive. I googled ''best driving schools {my city} '' and one was miles ahead in pass rate and learner reviews of 5 stars. Having manual lessons with him, and he is GREAT. Do not waste money with someone who is negative or belittles you. The tutor Bob is great in the video too.
Hi BOB , thank you for the video . can i ask what book Claire is using or referring for her driving practical please ? thank you in advance from Annie .
Had my second lesson . And I did alot ifvturning practice from minor to major roads . Had go in a circle basicly around a street n back. Then I got to drive half way home and try to go up to 20-30mph into second gear . With some tight squeezees . Was scary but exciting
I had 4 lessons so far. My instructor still asked me to practice biting point/ moving point with only using gear1. He said it is very important to have good foundation. I thought he spent too long talking about theory issues. I did not hav enough time to practice.
Very Useful, One Qn, any idea on manoeuvre at low speed (usually inching the traffic) using only clutch, probably harvesting the wagon load and bite point
The gear switching seams a lot like when you would drive a manual 4-wheeler... The gears are strange at first but you will figure it out and it will get stuck with you. I don't think I would want to deal with switching gears and driving at the same time as I would like to have all attention on what is around me
I've done a few lessons now but haven't had the money to continue. I did 5 and had to drive home which was cool. This video makes driving seen fun and I want to finish my driving test. I'm nearly 23 so I might try get it done before 2017. How many lessons does it usually take to get the test done?
It's different for everyone. My instructor has had people that needed 25 lessons to feel confident enough to pass and has had someone pass after only 8 lessons. Also each instructor is different, I've just done my 2nd lesson and it was the same as Claire's 4th lesson on here. So it depends, it seems the instructor in this video is going more slower and focusing more on the basics while my instructor is more keen on actually driving around junctions, roundabouts and dual carriageways and picking it up as you go.
Sean Martin ok thanks. I would say mine is the same as yours. He got me going around roundabouts etc already even though I didn't think I was ready. Hopefully I can get this done before end of 2016
Yeah I'm the same, I'm going a lot quicker than I thought I would but I'm glad. I'm driving home next lesson and doing reverse parking, after that I'll be driving my instructor every lesson onwards. Pretty scary but hopefully I'll get it all down and I'll pass before 2017.
Today, on my first driving lesson, my instructor made me drive in a busy road and roundabouts, when I barely had any control over the clutch. Fun times ahead :D
Hello Bob (if you see this), I am going to be starting my driving lessons in about a months time and am wondering about your scheduling around October/November? Thank you.
