Cait is born to play Claire. The way she delivers the dialogue, she is a performance powerhouse. Claire is much more intelligent than she is beautiful. She certainly is resourceful and I can't think of any woman more capable in fiction.
My favorite dress in this show is not one that Claire wears. I immediately fell in love with the dress that Louise wears when Claire is in her red dress. That one is sooo beautiful! Sorry Claire
I love almost all the dresses. If the red dress would have the same neckline of the wedding dress would be super cute. Is the only thing I don't like. Anyway, Caitriona (Claire) is super beautiful and of course she looks very well with any outfit :D
I loved the Parisian dresses ! They gave me life , one slight issue : The Red dress ! I loved the color, everything else is beautiful , however that neckline is just..No! It feels too much ! and I almost forgot about the length 😬😬😬
The Paris dresses were a wonder BUT in those days, basically wearing white anything (aside from under clothes, which could be boiled clean) was only for the richest of the rich monarchs. That white Dior jacket with peplum could have been a very, VERY unutterably expensive, once only worn item in a city where in Paris, chamberpots were still emptied from upstairs windows by the careless. Think of all the things that can damage a white garment now: red wine, smudgy with ink fingers, blood, grease, food sauces, white wine, human and animal waste products, baby milk (if a woman was nursing). There was nothing known to wash such a thing!.
i dont watch this show so i may be missing some context, but the wedding dress looks ridiculous to me. The low cut would be fine by me, i have nothing against a low cleavage, but the fit is bizarre, like there wasnt enough fabric. I think the off the shoulder sleeves make it look ill-fitting combined with the cleavage too. And whats with all the women's boobs jumping out of the dresses? A little bit is typical of historical shows and movies that want to spice things up, but these are too much. These ladies seem to have outgrown their dresses and stays.
In the show, they didn’t have time to find Claire a proper dress for her wedding. They went to a brothel to get that one which is why it maybe looks a bit tarty and ill-fitting
Red dress is deliberately ankle length because the shoes were intended to be seen. I agree, it looks a bit odd and not strictly fashion of the time, but great for overall dramatic effect.
The wedding dress in season 1 and the outfits she wore in season 2 during their stay in Paris were definitily the best for me. Claire looked magnificent in that red dress
Her wedding dress is my fav 🥰 and then the Scottish dress. Oh how I wish the red Paris dress was full lenght, then that one would probably be one of my favourites!
Didn't like the red dress, the neckline was too much and the skirt was too short, the colour was nice. I liked the second red dress better and also the more traditional attire she wore. The French dresses were pretty but sometimes a bit much for my taste
my personal favorite is the Dark green Plad dress (season 1+2) AND in paris (season 2), the dark blue jacket with pink embroidery. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING GARMENTS!!
My favourites were the Scottish dresses from season 1 and second half series 2, I mean the furred hood, the tartan kirtle and velvet bodice in outfit in by the pricking of my thumbs, the green tartan with the knit, hunting dress with the pink knit, the blue dress with sheer Kerchief, wedding dress, the lallybroch and loch night dresses, the cream with grey stripes, even the way she made an arisaid from Jamie's kilt at the stones. Not even mentioning gelies' dresses and the other womens dresses at the gathering.
Quelle classe Caitriona porte si élégamment toutes ces robes. Sa grande beauté n'a d'égale que sa performance d'actrice.Elle est incroyable de vérité.Une immense actrice.Bravo
They missed the beautiful dress Claire wore in Season 2 Episode 4 (La dame Blanche) at Versailles where Jamie playing Chess with Duverney and Comte Saint-Germain spike her drink with Bitter Cascara. It's beautiful Chestnut Brown dress with intricate gold and Green gems work and they reused it on Marsali in Season 3 Episode 12 (The Bakra) when Jamie, Claire, Fergus and Marsali attend Lord John's Grand Ball.
One of my favourites, is the 50s white outfit. I love the 18th gowns too but, since I started watching The Nevers, I prefer the late 19th century outfits of that show over the ones in Outlander 😅✌🏽: the ones from the opera or even just the walking suits. Awesome! Outstanding! Laura Donnelly (Jenny Fraser Murray ) starts that show playing Amalia True. There's only 6 episodes for now, but, it's an awesome show to watch while we wait for Outlander's sixth season to come out. Whixh I really want to watch! Best regards from Barcelona!
The costume designer carefully designed her wardrobe, her taste follows her time more than the contemporary French trends back in Versailles’ time where the more lavish is the best. Her fashions carry lots of modern elements. Because at that time everything is tailored by order
Okay hear me out, the red dress isn't my favorite. The length is a bit odd however we can't deny the fact that it's ICONIC I mean, sometimes I think of it on the same level as that green dress from Atonement
The wedding gown is so gorgeous. Just love it. In fact all outfits suits her well cos she's pretty n with height. God bless you Claire. Move on n stay safe pretty n healthy. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
