Clamming for GIANT Horse Clams - Dash Point State Park

I took advantage of some great low tides (-3+) and went out to do some clamming at Dash Point, right by Federal Way in central Puget Sound. A nice day to be out digging for these delicious giant clams. Tons of meat in them. In this video, I show some techniques for digging for them, and also how to prepare them for any recipes. There is a very tender part on horse clams that is excellent for making ceviche with.

Beauty. I grew up near that beach. It also has geoduck. And cockle shell clams. But it can be closed often due too red tide. ( Toxic shellfish poisoning ) And vibrio bacteria ( human sewage waste bacteria ) it's important to follow the health restrictions

Definitely keep an eye on the DOH website for safety before digging, not worth messing around with shellfish toxin.

Pls fill your holes after you get your geoduck when people walk and step in the hole it can be a painful experience for the walker on the beach. And it the rec to fill it back with the sand you dig.

Absolutely, I showed in the video to make sure to do that since it's also a safety consideration as well as the rule.
