I don;t know who to feel more for here, Clark or Whitney. Whit , ever the bully, was given some humanity when he lost his father, and he acted it well. Clark, ever compassionate, felt for him, even as his complex insecurity over Lana, sadness for the guy's loss, uncertainty with hos own friendships and utter loneliness play over his face. No words were spoken, yet so much was felt. An awesome pick of song, and and awesomely executed moment on a great show.
+Shenruss And don't forget Lana and Chloe's reactions as well. Lana was torn between her feelings for Clark and Whitney, while Chloe was clearly upset to see Clark kept looking at Lana during the funeral. This was classic Smallville before the series turned into a darker turn, when we've had no clue how TPTB's going to move each characters' story forward. We had a feeling that anything can happen, that Clark could have ended up with either Lana or Chloe and Lois was nowhere to be found. And all the characters were so young and innocent :-).
