Female political participation has been increasing in recent years. Even though there is still a long way to go, women around the world are showing why we need more female politicians.
Clara Marina Brugada Molina has been the Mayor of Iztapalapa, Mexico, since 2018. Since she came to office, Clara Brugada has been transforming Iztapalapa through a series of programmes and strategies, such as the “Siempre Vivas” (always alive) and the “Caminos de Mujeres libres y seguras” (roads of free and safe women), to make Iztapalapa a safer place for all of its citizens.
