Geez, I thought I was the only one who couldn't get into Vocaloid. I could never get past how robotic the voices sounded. But the ones that sounded less robotic and more human, I enjoyed just fine.
Glad to have someone on the same page as me, because it would feel very weird to mention how vocaloid doesn't sound appeal to me on anywhere else since it feels odd not to like vocaloid in the anime/vtuber space.
I hate the overuse of effects and pitch correction. And for some reason, that is the exact direction that music is going. When I’m bored, I fire up Cubase and check the pitch of a new vocal. If I see constant, perfect pitch with perfect timing, I know that it was corrected. Also, why the need for so much effects? What are you trying to cover up?
That doesn't mean she MUST have misophonia or that it is that. I can totally see why someone wouldn't like it. It's not that I can't listen to it, but that I really don't like the robotic voice. Doesn't replace a real voice. The songs aren't bad, but I can only listen to them in covers.
While there are some songs I love and I can listen to (like three or four songs total), I can't listen to the vast majority of them, I just can't. Thanks Embodiment of Chaos for the validation.
Its so weird that the franchise is over 15 years old, yet the vocaloids sounds just as synthetic and awkward. Like, we have had freaking AI doing a better job at sounding natural and human, so theres no excuse about from the technological perspective.
I understand where Clara is coming from here. Hatsune miku is kinda of an Ai here singing it. So it doesn't feel authentic here. Also Clara should definitely do a duet with airi. Those two would cook so well here ♥ 🐀
