Nobel Peace Prize (and to a large extent NP in Literature) has long been a political tool, a gadget distributed among those best serving certain interests. More than a century ago Teddy Roosevelt helped himself to one, another was "awarded" to Japan's Eisaku Sato, still another to the Dalai Lama [a long time asset on the payroll of the Alphabet Agency, who had done absolutely NOTHING to contribute to the world peace]. And then we have Barry - sorry, Barack - Obama given the toy before actually taking ANY action.

The EU is not a country , it's a club. No one gave the EU any right to have a parliament or to make laws... International law is based on the principle of sovereign nation states, so granting the EU with sovereignty will only make things worse...

The EU isn't really a democratic construct, the top levels are essentially a VIP club with very little accountability and lots of back-scratching. How do you expect two or three MEPs t change that, on their own?
