I can see it..." How to be a rude American tourist in England." My family escaped from Scotland in the 1750's. I cannot believe how stupid Americans have gotten. I WOULD BUY THE BOOK! 😀
Saddly the world today is to fucked up to do that. They just really need to get out their phones and fuck these men in the brain, well becouse likes on the instagram are more important than respect.
I feel so bad when the guards can't intimidate them because they feel uncomfortable, they can only shout when the tourists break the rules. So the guards have to bear these things... please, respect them.
Yeah. What is realy embarasing is what he must do. Insted of standing and guarding he is walking back and forward steping his boots like he wanted to get of some dirt from it.
I feel so bad for these guys. I don't think I could stand being looked at like some side show for the masses. What hes doing has purpose well beyond what anyone there can understand. It's great that they can hold their composure. I think these traditions are amazing it's always cool to see the culture of another country. Thanks for sharing!
I personally find them interesting but I don't understand why people disrespect them and just record them nonstop.. Like I get it it's fascinating and and might want to get a selfie but why do you have to stand their and stare at them like?? just take a picture and leave them alone
@@Hollows1997 Actually, yes they are. If threatened with a weapon, the guardsman is allowed to seek permission to discharge his rifle, or in some cases may already automatically have permission to discharge his rifle.
Peter Downey again that is not true. There are armed police close by and other soldiers who aren’t on guard are stood by in a quick reaction force with loaded weapons if need be.
@@Hollows1997 Did a bit of research, actually. The rifle that the guardsman carries has an empty magazine in it, but inside the sentry box there is a supply of loaded magazines that the guardsman can access in the event of an immediate threat.
Fifty years ago, you would have seen the Londonners watch the Changing of the Guard themselves as a matter of pride and love of their country and Queen....
most of the people disrespecting what these soldiers do have no idea what it takes to do this. It is incredibly uncomfortable, you can't move to scratch yourself, you can't cough, you can't piss. It is based on the fact that you are proving that you - as the guard - can endure incredibly uncomfortable situations to protect what you serve.
@@impulse1021 yes, captured by the Grenadier Guards (1st Foot Guards) from the 1iere Chasseurs a Pied del Garde Imperiale, whom the Grenadiers, along with the 51st Light Infantry, forced to retreat under fire.
Kaiser Enoshima[MCPE] yes they are the Queens soldiers but only the Queens Guard if the Queen is in residence at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, as this Clarence House these guards would be known as the St James Palace detachments the Royal Guard.
If you mess with a guardsmen don't think about messing with a sergeant and higher officers like majors, Sergeant majors they are much angrier than guardsmen and much scary
I like the gray long coats. 😀🇺🇸😀🇺🇸😀🇺🇸😀🇺🇸😀 It makes me mad that they are disrespecting the honorable soldiers! My ancestors had a dislike of the British and I disliked them so much that I thought for years that England and Scotland were separated by an ocean.BUT YOU DO NOT disrespect honorable soldiers, they give their lives at times so the "low life disrespectful brats" can live in freedom. THEN the Royal Guard gets treated like a cheap tourist attraction!!! I'm mad, and you don't want to get a Scotsman mad. We need to write the Royal Guard and thank them for all they do!
@somethingmemorable1 Full respect to the brits. Thier soldiers, and thier people, who through thick and thin, have always had our backs. Didnt appreciate the disrespect anymore than you did. Cheers, carry on.
They aint just traditional though, they aint there cos we had them 100s of years ago. They still actually guard and have purpose and each is actually a trained soldier as well. They have 3 roles, 1 stamp feet when members public act like knobs and get to close, 2 stamp feet and aim rifle at member public when they don't listen, 3 a button inside their jackets and box brings immediate police and back up in the event it is ever needed as well as having full rights to take down and detain anybody they wish. Sure 90% of it is for tourists and its great they are there because it is unique but it does serve a purpose of real "Guarding" to.
I lived on a Navy base when in high school. The sentries on duty must have hated the kids on the school bus. I'd see them spit at the guards and throws things at them as the bus passed them at the gate entrance.
*I would never be a guard of some monarchy! Never in a million years i see myself so wortless that i protect people who inherits money without doing anything*
If it was under there chin and if the hat were to fall, it’s so heavy that it could brake there neck. So it is better for it to be on the chin, to not cause injury.
They should not allow all those people (I think tourists) to disturb the armed guard service of these soldiers but I believe they must respect them for what they do and what they represent! They are not an attraction for tourists but a symbol of the nation.
Today, these sentries carry out their duties behind the gates for their own personal protection; not from disrespectful tourists, but knife-wielding fanatics... (fill in the missing description!).
At 2:15, the one of the left is wearing a red ribbon that goes around his upper body. Is that an indicator for a higher up or what's the meaning of it?
Lil Sauce Jr. the 3rd because it’s cold winter raining and we wanna see our families coz we don’t live with them we live in wellington barracks behind the palace
For one thing I can see a flaw in this type of defence to protect the royal family, they need guard's with a spear or Lochaber axe with a shield like the Viking's and form a shield wall that is made out of titainium or titainium mixed with steel so it there was a terrorist attack or a raid happening not only would the royal family be more protected but also the other guard's guarding as well and so the guards with the rifles can easily shoot at the attackers without being harmed in the attack
@@randompersonontheinternet7444 I mean, when you have to deal with tourists that make fun of you for doing your job, for hours a day, you'd be pretty upset looking, too. *Also, why... do you... type... like this...?*
@@randompersonontheinternet7444 I don't care about the THICC letters, it's just.. the constant.. use.. of ellipses.. It makes it seem like you're typing while out of breath
