Grappling, she still has a long way to go but that's most fighters disciplined with a striking background. Grappling on average takes a long time to master. She def improved her clinch game. Maybe the top girls best her, all she can do is challenge herself and try to win.

The fact she is proud of her last performance tells you how delusional she really is. That was one of the poorest crossover performances in the history. Claressa trained mma now for over 4 years. 0 positional awareness, 0 submission escapes, 0 mount escapes. Even in the standup she looked sloppy windmilling and lunching her punches. And all that even though she fought a handpicked 1-2 journeywoman.

Very well said. I was most shocked about how poor her stand up looked. Maybe she would clean it up for hire competition but she strikes like that against elite girls, she will get slept, something she doesn't seem to have the power to do herself.

Yet all of them had terrible performances that night. Claressa Shields fought in a B-league organization against a handpicked fighter without any submission wins, no experience and a negative record and she almost got subbed, didn’t escape any positions on the ground (got safed by the bell) and won via split decision. How is that not a poor performance?

What I don't understand is if she wants to box then stick with boxing, why go to PFL and fight bombs in MMA and then call out, cyborg in a boxing match. Get in the cage and find a real fight, do what you said you were going to do fight MMA. God help her if they put her in a cage with a woman who could wrestle it's all over. Or a woman who knows how to throw leg kicks, she's going to get smoked. And her talking about Amanda being retired, if she got in a cage when Amanda it would be a very quick fight it would be over before it even started.

She said she started MMA as a challenge and do something no other fighter has done, be an active champion in both sports. The Cyborg and Amanda fights were both brought up during the time Jake Paul was doing cross overs. Amanda said she was interested to box a big name like Claressa but Dana wasn't letting fighters do it. Claressa said a promoter had offered her a bag for boxing cross promo, and figured she could split it with someone she was cool with and had a big name, Cyborg.

Holy Holms fought in both too. But at least some male boxers like Povetkin, Whyte, and Miller fought in both Boxing and Kickboxing. Not as big a jump but a middle ground between the sports. Also less impressive but Pulev tried Triad which was closer to MMA than normal Boxing and Paulie Malanaggi competed in Bareknuckle. Venom Page is cool because he's done MMA, Boxing, Bareknuckle (where he got robbed), and I think Kickboxing.

Good interview. She basically explained how Cris verbally agreed to a contract then backed out. Cryborg hasn’t changed. Cryborg is pulling the same crap with Clarissa like she did with Dana. It’s funny. Cryborg doesn’t want to move up in weight but, she never shut up about wanting Ronda to do it. Cryborg acts like she has all of the leverage to call all of the shots. She’s doing Clarissa like she did Dana. Cryborg got her ass handed to her by Joanna Baars in MT and Amanda Nunes in MMA. I can’t wait to see it happen in boxing. Dana White had her pegged and she didn’t like it.

But that's easier to do in boxing, harder in mma when they can use kicks and takedowns

If sheilds box cyborg I give it 50\50 who wins, my reason is cyborg has punching power, shield dose not have power, she will out point her.. in an MMA FIGHT IT WOULD BE 75\25 IN FAVOR OF CYBORG. I SAW AMANDA SERRAO GET A BEAT DOWN IN MMA, on her feet she was great standing, but once on the ground she became toast. Also I think Marshall can beat shield if they ever fight again. Marshall learn a lot from that first fight, after Franchaon Cruze she learn how to handle the crowding.

Fight her in the pfl cage. In a real fight. I think most fans would rather see that. cris did not look scared at all in that video at press row and Clarissa is the one that came up talking nice. Cyborg just made the logical argument that since Clarissa has much more experience, why not come down to 147. Cyborg is a 145 fighter. If Clarissa wants 154…then do it in mma. Where cyborg has more experience…thus justifying cyborg coming up nine pounds.

That's a lie, I've seen the sparr and neither won. Both had their moments but nothing really happened. The video is available in RU-vid and all can see she's lying again, the same way when she was knockout by her partner in sparring, a man. And she claims she can handle any man... Too much ego, zero honesty.

I thought by now she would have put in the time in learning at least blue belt level jiujitsu ground game. But no, Claressa was absolutely horrible once taken to the ground. No elbow escape attempts when she was mounted, not even a buck reversal attempt. It was painful to watch. Anyway, she won't get far in MMA if she continues to have no ground fundamentals.
