It was not close in my opinion. The fight was extremely competitive but shields won 7 rounds and landed big shots at will the first 5 rounds.

@@talibshakur yea I agree with you. But taking everything into consideration. Shields was up against a bias crowd and Savannah did back her up against the ropes alot. It just concerned me that the refs wouldn't see what you and I saw. Clarissa did land the harder/cleaners shots, but Savannah was the bully in the ring(she blocked a lot of Clarissa shots with her face)

Its all subjective to be fair and although sadly the skill level and therefore the excitement isn't there with all female fights, yet anyway but the top girls usually deliver and these two should provide a highly entertaining bout. The 2 min rounds help with the pace too I think as they don't have to worry about energy conservation and can just go for it for the whole round. To each their own but I'm pumped for it mate.

@@rjim1 I can't stand the 2 minute rounds! Before it gets going the bell goes. If the women can't do 36 minutes then squash the fight into 8 rounds but 3 minute rounds. It's not for me sir.. Ands it's not me being sexiest. Love women's tennis. And Pole vault!

The two minute rounds can work brilliantly if both girls are up for a scrap and I've throughly enjoyed those type of fights but I do agree it should be changed to three mins in the near future, look at the UFC for eg, its all the same regardless of gender.
