For me the sound he obtains is perfect , he follows the authentic sound discovered after manufacture by expert clarinet player in Salzburg of replica clarinets from drawings of the clarinet used by Mozart’s friend, virtuoso Anton Stadler. The strings also are aware of how to match their playing in the slower , thoughtful , gentle representation of what Mozart intended at the time .

Superb performance! I've played the first and third works and have had a number of students do the Poulenc successfully. I don't know if the single negative was about the very tasteful inclusion of vibrato. I don't have my students use vibrato, but I also teach sax and those students incorporate it very nicely. My son is college Jr and has a beautiful "straight" sound on the clarinet and has a refined sax vibrato. My personal taste would prefer a more dramatic theatrical style with the Poulenc as per his own indications in the score, but that's just me. Beautiful sound and musical refinement!
