I thought the band sounded pretty good, considering its size. However, I think they should get rid of the opening fanfare and go back to the old halftime fanfare, which sounds better. Also, there are too many woodwinds; I think some of those woodwind players should switch to brass instruments; it would definitely improve their sound. I'm not sure why the band needs three drum majors; they should put two of them back on their instruments. On a positive note, the girls looked great and their performance was really well done. The band dance was also very good. Overall, it was a solid first show. ❤️🇺🇸 On another note, I found it disrespectful for Fort Valley to have football players on the field at the same time as the band's performance. I think someone should file a complaint about this.

Essence is back like they never left. The choreo is an uptick from last season. The talent on the team this year is up there.

The fanfare needs to go or be rewritten.
