Clark International Airport Terminal 2 Open House
‪@CasaTexPina‬
We had the opportunity to do a walk through of the new Clark International Airport Terminal 2 today 30 April 2022.
Some info on the new terminal:
- [ ] The total investment in the construction of new terminal is nearly PHP12.55bn ($243m).
- [ ] The new terminal will handle up to eight million passengers each year, more than doubling the previous terminal’s capacity of 4.2 million passengers per year.
- [ ] The new terminal was completed in October 2020. The terminal, which hosts 18 aerobridges
- [ ] The new world-class terminal features a touchless passenger check-in option. Self-service, self-check-in kiosks, and self-bag-drop systems are available for passenger security and independence.
- [ ] The airport is currently undergoing a significant expansion project that includes the construction of a new runway, which is expected to be completed by 2024. With the completion of the expansion project, the Clark International Airport will be able to accommodate up to 12 million passengers per year.
- [ ] Once it is connected to the Manila-Clark Railway Station, the travel time between Metro Manila and the airport is expected to be cut to less than 60 minutes.
- [ ] The design of the terminal’s façade reflects the wavy silhouette of Mount Arayat, Mount Pinatubo and Sierra Madre mountain range. The tallest arch is 20m high and the structure is flanked with 12m and 16m high arches. The remaining arches are 12m tall.
Also got to have lunch and visit with our friends from ‪@TheBallentineFamily‬

Your place in Mabalacat is a good place to do plane spotting for aircraft landing and taking off in the northern side of the runway. 2009 when I was inquiring a lot property in your subdivision because I knew Clark will be a big thing. That did not push and chose Capas instead.
@CasaTexPina
@CasaTexPina 2 года назад
We see some of the airlines on their approach and take off patterns. Can almost guess their schedules. Capas isn't too bad. Stoill close enough to the airport. Beats having to drive all the way to Manila.

Thanks for sharing. I also read somewhere online that US Air Force aircraft and some "Patriot Express" flights might start stopping by there in the future and provide US military "Space A" flights for US retired military. If that starts, I will be definitely take advantage of one our US retired military "benefits". Coming from a retired US Air Force (Class of 1970 to 1990). Peace!

Welcome to our channel. Great to have another AF vet on board. They used to fly Space-A out CRK on a regular basis prior to the whole Covid thing. With the recent announcements of reopening Space-A, hopefully it’s just a matter of time before they are back up and running here again. Class of 89-15 here.

@@CasaTexPina Right on Brother! We just moved here from Missouri about a month ago. I'm from Hawaii but my wife and decided to live a simple rural life when I retired from my 2nd career as civilian in Hawaii and moved to Missouri. We lived in Missouri for 9 years. Great state and people. My wife is from San Pablo City, Laguna. We decided to move here due to the "condition of the US". Not trying to get political but we don't like what we're seeing and the direction our country is going. Since, we have are both retired and have an option, we elected to to choose the option and move. We sold our house, our cars last year and many personal belongings and made the big move. We have been planning the big move since last year but due to the Philippine many Covid restrictions and they kept changing the protocols , we had to keep postponing the move. Then finally, when the window of opportunity opened up late last month, we jumped on it and took the first flight we could out of LAX on Japan Airlines and arrived in San Pablo City, Laguna on March 28. We have been working on a contract to build a house even before we left Missouri. I've been trying to adjust living here but it has been a challenge. I told my wife the the more things we have and own here, the more I'll be inclined to stay. So as soon as we could, we bought all our appliances, even though we're temporarily staying at a rental house. Then we bought car, a2014 Toyota Innova with only 58,000 Kilometer. Then we finalized and signed the house construction contract last week and the contractor started building the house last week. I just need to try and relax and wait for the completion of the house and then I''ll be set. By the way, I had my first initial consultation with the Asian Hospital under our Tricare program. I was rather impressed with the staff starting from the International Health Service (IHS) office that handled all the Tricare paperwork and reimbursements and the doctor. Even though I'm 100% VA disabled, personally, I don't trust VA treatment. I took me 23 years of fighting wiht the VA to finally get my 100% rating. Besides, I found out their treatment at Manila VA Clinic is very limited so I decided to just go to Asian Hospital. Fortunately for me, I also have a choice and option on medical care. Peace! Added note: Can you connect me with other US Air Force retirees around here? Thank you.

Very nice. George I was wondering if they incorporated Solar Energy to reduce the load on the Grid.
@CasaTexPina
@CasaTexPina 2 года назад
I’m not sure. They didn’t mention anything about solar, but the orientation of the building lends itself to passive solar. The lofty high ceilings open throughout should help get the hot air up and away from the passengers and keep the floor areas cooler. Great looking place.
