Normally, Clark Kent should be with Lois Lane (according the comics) but I agree that Clana is so good. The problem is the writers let the public become attached to Lana x Clark and when they get rid of her, it was painful. Clana forever
Actually the Kristin Kruek wanted to explore other options so she wanted out.. and so did Michael Rossenbaum and the original producer also quit because they felt they had no more stories to tell... so a major part of the original team quit after the 7th season, which is one of the main reasons the show took such a drastic change from season 8 onwards.
