Hello, this is easily the best explained video on Pontoons, I have been searching for good info. I have my first pontoon coming in May 2021. 20'10" with lifting strakes and a 2/3 center tube. I have a 115hp being put on. Question, will 115 be enough power? 95 percent of the time just two of us and our dog. The reason I did not go for 150hp is the fuel tank. It is only 21 gallons. I am not a speedster at all. Just a cruiser but looking for the power when necessary. No watersports will be taking place. It is a very slow (10kph max) 12-15 minute ride on a large river before we hit the lake. Thanks.
I should have read my comment. I forgot to ask the question which was the whole point explaining what I ordered., sorry. My question is, with the boat I am getting, do you think the 115 will provide enough power?
@@hockeynutt9434 with your description of expected use, I’d say that a 115 Hp engine will be satisfactory. The express tube will give you the buoyancy you are looking for and will also assist in keeping the bow up if you head into a swell or decent sized wave. I hope you enjoy your new boat.
@@hockeynutt9434 150 will come with hydraulic steering. 115, unless equiped, will by cable. Other tip is maximize horse power engine. See so many great pontoons with small engines. No one has ever said " glad I bought the smaller engine".
