J Trounce not at all. If you miss with a Luna once, u ded, and it’s pretty tricky to aim well enough. To be fair, I’ve not used Luna much, but it’s a little harder.
I actually tried the Clash Blaster after watching you use it in a video the other day. It was surprisingly fun, as someone who almost refuses to have anything to do with a weapon that isn't either the Hero Splatling or my beloved Hydra Splatling.
The reason why I love the Clash Blaster is because of its faster firing rate as you can easily hit people at close range without aiming directly at them faster than any other Blaster. It’s basically a combination of the Rapid Blaster and the Luna Blaster.
StickMaster500 I just thought about this. Since it's pretty easy to maneuver with speed a clash blaster with toxic mist would be great. I slows down enemies so you can get them while they're stuck from a medium distance. I wonder if they'll add it...
Datamining says the Clash Blaster Neo will come with the sprinkler and tenta missiles. This could change though, because the Gold Dynamo was supposed to come with toxic mist.
I heard the word deceptive/ly a lot. I think it’s good solely because people think it’s bad. They don’t give it as much respect as it deserves, so they rush in, or ignore it as it kills others. It’s underused, so people don’t understand it enough to fight it effectively
My dentist also agrees that the hero shot is the best weapon he just thinks that the splat charger does so much damage. And that is why my dentist agrees that rainmaker is the best mode
when i saw the splatoon 2 trailer, i saw my chance to main the dualies. when i tried it out i hated the dualies. i did some more research and the liked rollers and shooters. when i got the game i was feeling incomplete. then i tried the blaster......... my life changed. i started to like blasters more and more until i see the clash for the first time.(mind blown)
I used the clash blaster for a bit when I was trying to rank up to S+ in all modes. One of the most important factors is positioning. Never, I repeat, NEVER, be in an open area with opponents unless you're sharking. Fighting an opponent in the open will almost always guarantee their victory. Instead, hang around corners and tight areas and use awkward angles to your advantage
I definitely agree people are sleeping on this. I'm a decently active user of this weapon, (150,000p. One of my higher numbers.) and it just really has a bit of everything! The nice hitbox, good range for a close range class weapon, and if your aim is good, even FASTER kills. Personally I like to abuse Splat Bombs with this, so I run Ink Recovery and Ink Saver Sub. I prioritize Swim Speed though, it really helps you not get caught when you want to flank. I also run a main of special power up, a longer Sting Ray means added pressure. I'm kind of stunned not many people use Clash Blaster, and I'm glad somebody I look up to loves it as much as I do. The second variant will be FANTASTIC for Turf Wars, by the way. Not spoiling it for people who don't know the kit, but I will say that. But anyway, I really liked this style of video! Would love to see more 'weapon reviews' like this!
I absolutely love the clash blaster, and I guess the best word you were looking for is, consistency, there's little to no variability with its attacks and its stunlocking potential is amazing.
Thank you for suggesting this weapon. Without this I wouldn’t have fell in love with it. I’m having so much fun and winning so much with it. Thank you!
God I miss back when the Clash was the most overlooked weapon. I felt like the only person who used it, and it was always awesome finding a fellow Clash main. Now, I can't go a day without seeing somebody whining about it being "overpowered" in the plaza or on r/Splatoon. Post-buff Clash mains are depressing, honestly. I hope it gets nerfed to back what it was before. It really wasn't underpowered like people said.
Something I wanna see is a weapon review of the weapon that drops at the end of the week, but great vid! I'm a clash blaster main also and always win in those fire fights
People hate it because first, it’s hard to use (as you said) and most blasters kill in directs but this takes like 2 or 3 directs to kill so accurate players hate it. Your strategy of hiding behind walls and relaying on area damage is how people should use it, that’s the most reliable way to kill people, I’m definitely gonna use this weapon more
I feel like the Clash Blaster is also a good weapon too. If it got me to Number 88 on the Top 100 for Team Comedy its good to me. Though general since I love Rapid Blaster I knew I would love this one. Funny enough I did actually see you using the clash blaster in one of the Clam Blitz matches I was paired with you at while listening to your old sloshing machine tutorial Anyhow, I think what makes most people sleep on the weapon is probably due to being a level 30 unlock which makes it hard for newer players to give it a try and is generally overlooked as most people will of already found their main weapon. Infact I basically “Mained” weapons like Bamboozler and Sloshing Machine which made the thought of using the clash blaster irrelevant until I unlocked it or gave it a try in a Salmon Run rotation till I liked it.
I agree 100%. I main this thing in anything where turf doesnt matter and its all about the kills. I think people underestimate this things ability to harass. Personally, I run Comeback, Ink Saver (Main), and Ink Recovery for mains. Comeback really comes in handy for my playstyle, which is basically run-and-gun kamikaze style. Ink Saver to keep on the pressure on enemies foolish enough to try to out maneuver me, and Ink Recovery to reset after doing so, and to make better use of the splat bombs, which are just so, so good for pestering.
Best method to take on a blaster is swim to their side. Swim speed is a must here. You can appear next to them and take them out way before they can properly aim directly at you, as they prefer to keep an ideal blast distance.
Loved the music in the background! Plus the clash blaster can be very annoying on tower control so you can win a match on tower control with the clash blaster, and I think im friends with my name on switch is sushiッ
I've personally fallen in love with the Undercover Brella. It's got good range, damage, firing rate, and the unique attribute of shooting with the Brella both allows one to cover turf quickly and rush down foes. That last part is especially true with its Splashdown special. If only it wasn't stuck with the Ink Mine...
Ah yes, the newb cannon. I've been maining this for the past couple months and have seen my kill and assist ratio go way up. I'm consistently getting 12+ kills each ranked match (A- to A+).
I just got the clash blaster and I love it! Most kills I got with it was 24. I run swim speed up, ink saver main, and ink saver sub for it and it helps immensely. I got to S rank on tower control and rainmaker with it. It’s definitely one of my favorite weapons.
I pretty much feel the same way about the clash blaster though I think what it is is probably once you get way up there in the top skill level there's a lot more players that just don't miss their shots and react super quick which does make the clash blaster's time to kill a problem. Of course it is still strange that you don't see it a lot more often in solo since there's plenty of us just not worried about the top tier meta over what clicks with us personally. I guess one other thing I've noticed while playing clash is that while great in battle it's turf coverage is really lacking so if your team is struggling it can be really hard to push out and take advantage of your great mobility to peck foes to death.
The Clash blaster is actually a fun and strong weapon and i always seem to do very well with it but I grinded for the Hero blaster so i guess I have to use it
You had some great points about the Clash Blaster, but I'll tell you why you don't see it in games very often. The Clash Blaster has bad matchups with most shooters in open areas, and with a shooter friendly meta and larger maps, the gun is at a disadvantage in many situations. If they outrange you and you can't even get indirect hits on them, such as a splattershot pro, then you're screwed. If their weapon has enough range for your indirect shots to hit, such as the dualies or splattershot, then your indirect shots aren't powerful enough to kill them before they kill you. If their weapon has equal or lower range than your direct shots, such as a sploosh o matic, then you can keep them back. However, they can find another way to get into your range, such as from above, and blasters have a hard time getting directs on opponents up close. Even with the clash blaster's high fire rate, the sploosh's rate of damage will kill you before you can get two directs on it. You've mentioned this in another video, but the weapon also has trouble dealing with opponents focusing on it. In solo queue, this isn't much of a problem, since teams are disorganized. But in tournaments, league, and competitive, teams are more organized and aware. They also perform call outs which divert the teams attention to a sneaking Clash Blaster. This is a great weapon, but it just can't perform to its fullest in an environment that people know what they're doing. And if major teams that shape the meta dont use it, then the general public won't either. Perhaps it needs a new play style, some buffs, or more attention from major teams.
When I saw this video’s thumbnail, I thought it was a joke. But then you convinced me to give it another go. But crayola canon though! 😂😂 My first impression of it was the crayon launcher! 😂
Clash blasteris definitely more dominant in the rank modes. It may not be the best for turfing, but the high splat rate it gives you is good. Even still be out range if a player is smart enough to move around the weapon. Managed to somehow get 22 splats with the weapon on Tower control alone, I don't know how it fairs in Splat zones or Claim blitz. But if you need someone to be your guardian/defender. Have someone with this weapon and you with a long range weapon and you have a deadly combo.
I main the clash blaster too. The only thing that counters it is when a fast killing weapon gets super close to you that it’s blasts can't hit him, at far as I can tell.
hey etce, i have a question... if you have a run up main and two run up subs with thermal ink and ink savior then is that a good combo with the clash blaster? i am getting soon so i'd wanna be set for battle a know what it is good with before i get it so if you can respond thanks. also, stay fresh squid kid!
I've been looking for a reason to use this weapon, because I'm so accustomed to the rapid blaster, both in S1 and S2. I might make some gear sets with Thermal Ink for compact stages with lots of ledges, and Ninja Squid for flat ones like Kelp Dome.
Clash blaster is one of my two "fun" mains (the other being bamboozler). They are both a ton of fun and I'm also really decent with them. Sometimes in ranked I can have trouble though. I like running run speed, ink resistance, sub power up, and ink saver main on it usually. I forget about thermal ink though. I really need to try that out. May even with bamboozler too, just in case I don't get the initial splat!
So like a good Etce subscriber I've been trying to use the clash blaster based on this video. It has been... less than ideal. I'm curious - don't you think the range blaster does everything the clash blaster can do but better? The clash blaster in ranked just gets destroyed because it takes like 40 hits to kill someone.
i totally agree with this, the clash blaster is an amazing weapon. ive been using this since i could and i love it. I️ personally think that you rate the dapple duelies, they’re another one of the weapons that I️ continue to excel with and would like to hear your opinion on them.
Tbh I was planning to get good with clash blaster, but I was memeing with dapple dualies, and then I realized how well they fit my actual playstyle...(plus they got me to s+, even though I still use stick controls)
Dear Clash Bandicoot main, Your video is very informational and I will be trying the weapon. I’d like to see you rate the mini splatling. I myself think it’s a decent, complicated and skilled support weapon even though I don’t normally play support, I usually play pretty aggressively using precision and accuracy to my advantage. The mini does take some time to master but I’d like to hear your opinions on it in another video. -Stay fresh, xLcgan
As a person who thinks they have good movement but not so good aim, usually liking to go in close range, would you recommend the clash blaster? Or is there a better weapon for that. I do also like to use splat bombs, so that's a plus.
I main the Luna which is basically the clash just way more powerful but slower. And when you run a setup like mine, it works basically as well as it did in S1 which is freaking amazing
It's not the best, consider this: If someone good has the Clash blaster and someone else that's good has Splat dualies, the dualies can dodge roll right up to them and splat them faster. The Clash has a very slow kill speed, so if someone's shooting at you and you're shooting at them, you'll lose-- not to mention lots of weapons have better ranges, and the ones that don't can, once again, swim up to them and kill them. If you want to main a blaster I suggest either the Luna blaster or the Rapid blaster pro, the former has such a wide explosion that nobody can dodge it, and it's either a one or two hit kill. The latter has amazing range so it can out range many other weapons, and because of the explosion you can hit and trap people from extremely far away. The Clash blaster doesn't really have anything going for it, except for rof but the low damage makes that practically useless.
Still relevant, in my splatoon server people don’t use the clash blaster because they don’t really know how to use blasters in general and don’t understand how to work that blast to get damage
