Clash of Clans is a 2012 free-to-play mobile strategy video game developed by Finnish developer Supercell. The game is set in a fantasy-themed persistent world where players are village chiefs who build their own village using resources gained from attacking other players' villages. Players can form clans, participate in clan wars, donate and receive troops, and chat with each other. The game uses multiple currencies, including gold, elixir, dark elixir, gems, and three different ores. Players can train troops and heroes using gold and elixir, and upgrade their barracks and factories. The game also introduces Super Troops, town halls, and new features like root rider troop, overgrowth spell, and merge defenses. Clan wars are a major component, with players receiving stars based on their destruction of opposing clans' bases. The game has introduced Builder Base game modes, new heroes, and updated levels.
