The only problem is Doug's thought processes are extremely flawed a great deal of the time. I am not sure how long you have been playing Doug, but the casinos that I regularly play, your level of thinking, bet sizing etc, would probably make you a break-even player at the 1-2 level at best. You need to do some reading my friend.
@@gregorystgermain713 At the very beginning of the video, you see a computer work book. So, it seems to me that he is trying to get better. That being said. We ALL can get better.
Lmao right. That hand had me cracking. That dude owned him. He owned the other guy too he just hit a miracle 9 on river. But Doug couldnt have played that hand any worse. It was HILARIOUS
At 13 min in, when you showed the 2 tens, I was also looking at those same 2 cards in my game on PokerStars. This is like the 4th time this exact situation had happened while watching various vlogs.
Please be safe at the tribal casinos! The one in the county I live in now has 10 plus Of employees/ persons that tested positive. Glad you’re having fun and streaming just hope you’re safe.
I truly enjoy your streaming, but you’re much safer not being at a tribal casino. The risk is way way to high when 1 person dies every 33 seconds. That’s hard to swallow for me. But I play in a poker league online. Because I’m in California an the online sites are not allowed. But leagues are! Thanks for all you’re streaming your great to watch! Merry Christmas an Happy New Year!
I find that most player's actually think that they have to make a move or play with zip because "they're playing cards ". All I have to do is sandbag and call when it feels right. Not what I think but feel. My feelings are the foundation of my thinking. When my feelings are off, I have to rely on my thinking and hope my thinking is right. Hahaha. Sure, thats why I gamble...brilliant thinking! Ha!
Doug, you have to check 1st hand of KK on quinessential dry K72r, A on turn likely earns you turn & river value from Arag, & low card turns gives sets to 33 44 55 66 who you stack -- these Arag & low pairs went away on flop bet
You are correct. Normally I would check or bet very small, last couple of sessions I’ve got my KK beat. For my mental game I decided just to break the losing streak and take it down. I imagine that if I lost with them again, it would be difficult to play my best. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
I understand the psychological "victory" of not being outdrawn, but forcing everyone to fold when you have the nuts will drastically affect your winrate.
@@dougmccuskerpoker i dont mind the bet. What i do mind, is the sizing. You bet just about half pot. You dont need to go that big. Roughly 30% for like 18$ is perfect. Small enough to get floats and or induce.
Nice hands.. very nice with the 32 on the button. With top set being KK on a dry board, I'd either check or bet very small to make it look like a missed TT or something like that. Only one K left.. and if they have a lower set or 2p or anything, they'll let you know, or give them a chance to bluff on the turn. It also strengthens your check in future. If you're going to trap anything anyway.. Personally I just hate to get fold with top set. Edit: missed the flush draw to charge, my bad.. But interesting hands and nice video.
Thanks for watching, I should bet smaller with the KK, or perhaps check it and risk a draw getting there, my last couple of vlogs, I’ve been getting beat over the head with KK, so for mental game I just wanted to take it down.
Probably should have, but last couple plays starting with KK didn’t go my way. Decided to just win it because if I lost with KK again I would not been in a good state of mind. But checking it or betting small were both better plays than 1/2 pot.
What's going on with low stakes players showing their hands before showdown?!? The guy with PP TT, I can understand his 'angle' to get a read on you when he flashed his hand. (Honestly, any decent player would've put him on over pair to the board anyways). But the guy with 5c2c showed his hand on the Turn takes the 🍰! 🤣 Nice se$$ion & vlog. Happy holidays! 🥃cheers🥃!!!
yeah, can't believe it either. it actually happened one other time that day, makes decisions easy. thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the vlog. Happy Holidays!
Thanks for the heads up, I was very careful on my visit, but even being careful it is a risk. Not going to be playing much during this spike in cases. When I do it will be very early in the morning when there are less people. Hope your friend is ok, Happy Holidays.
I’m actually playing less than my normal, the pandemic has decreased my playing time quite a bit. Once things get better, I will pick up the pace, still need to be safe.
Normally my image is a TAG, today I was playing closer to a LAG. If there was any doubt, I took an aggressive approach. Being a little splashy in smaller spots makes it more likely to get paid in the big ones.
You are correct, that table was calling everything preflop, should of priced most of them out. After editing the vlog I came to the same conclusion. Appreciate the feedback, keep me on the right track, your input was spot on.
HAHAHAHA YOU GOT OWNED BY 2 3 LMAO. What are you doing barreling into 5 people on the flop then 2 people on the turn? I dont get it Doug. That really is a punt. You have a gutshot and 2 over. Thats it. We should be taking our hands with more equity for this line. Like 89s or Q9s KQs and such. Or our overpairs and 2 pair plus.
For your AKo on JT2 hand, betting into 4 people first to act is not ideal. No backdoor, A/K may not even be good for you, let alone the spade A/K/Q. Best not to stab a flop that connects with LP limp calling ranges so well. Anyways, Best of luck:)
I am months behind on your vlog, so maybe you have changed your betting habits. That said, at the time of this blog it seems your betting strategy is off. The AQo hand that you won with a bet otr: You bet flop with tp2k. Turn brought another fd and you x'ed. Then the front door came in and you bet. Thee turn and river betting seem backwards to me. Ott, villain will call a bet with more draws, but otr, villain is only calling with Ax, maybe Kx, and the flush (or weirdly played 2 pr/sets). If you x otr, villain might value own himself or bluff the flush, and you can call with the As. Imho
@@dougmccuskerpoker I completely understand the thought process. I just believe that you would get more value by betting the turn with 2 flush draws on board and then checking the river on a scare card, instead of the other way around. But that's just me. :)
@@MaydayAggro yes I would get more value by betting with draws on board. I sometimes play hands deceptively and it does cost ev. It also makes it more difficult for my opponents to put me on a hand. It’s a trade off I make to be harder to predict. I know that I target predictable play constantly, I don’t want my opponents to have the same opportunity. Thanks for watching all the vlogs from the start, the early ones are pretty bad. They do improve as time goes by.
You're getting premium but not capitalizing on them. Bet more to at least minimize number of callers (1 or 2). You making it to comfortable for them to call.
