Class 390s, 805s, 730s and 350s | Trains at : Birmingham New Street | 19/09/24 #10
In this extra-long special, we’re at Birmingham New Street, one of the busiest and most iconic stations in the UK, to capture an incredible variety of trains in action! From high-speed services to local commuters, this video has it all. We even catch the rare sight of a Class 66 freight locomotive passing through the station-a real treat for trainspotters!
🚉 What to Expect:
- *Class 158s*: These regional diesel multiple units (DMUs) serve as workhorses for a number of operators, providing crucial connections on medium-distance routes.
- *Class 170s*: A common DMU seen across regional services, the Class 170 "Turbostar" is praised for its smooth ride and versatility on non-electrified routes.
- *Class 220s (Voyager)*: These diesel-electric trains are designed for long-distance travel, providing cross-country services across the UK.
- *Class 221s (Voyager)*: Built for long-distance journeys, these diesel-electric multiple units are known for their flexibility and ability to run on non-electrified lines.
- *Class 323s*: Known for their distinctive whirring sounds, these electric multiple units (EMUs) are a staple of local services around Birmingham and the West Midlands.
- *Class 350s*: These Desiro EMUs operate on the West Coast Main Line, offering both regional and intercity services with a focus on comfort and reliability.
- *Class 390s (Pendolino)*: These high-speed tilting trains are a regular sight on the West Coast Main Line, providing fast and reliable services for Avanti West Coast.
- *Class 730s*: The latest addition to the West Midlands Railway fleet, these new EMUs will soon replace older units and improve services with modern features and faster journeys.
- *Class 805s*: The brand-new Avanti West Coast trains, still in testing and soon to replace the older Class 221 Voyagers. These modern bi-mode trains are set to bring more efficiency to the network.
- *Class 66*: A rare sight at Birmingham New Street! This freight locomotive’s appearance is a special highlight, especially with how uncommon it is to see a freight train at this station.
Birmingham New Street is a hive of activity, and this extended session captures the full diversity of UK rail operations. Be sure to check out my dedicated videos on the Class 390 and Class 805 for a deeper dive into these incredible trains!
Thanks for tuning in to this extra-long special and for all your continued support!
