Well done. Best video I've seen here with excellent communication of demonstration & intent. Very solid foundations & fluid movements presented by someone who genuinely understands. Your students have a very good teacher 👍

Great lesson as always. Grab defences are so dynamic and i like how you teach. Reminiscent of my lessons years ago. Enjoyed your lessons and appreciate your clips. Much respects from the UK.

This is so beautiful explained. Very good. The theoretical stuff is very important, else you never understand the technique.

I think that the instructor said that , If some one grab you by the side of your collar label, Don't let one grab you, But either way the techniques that he is demonstrating , Will "Still" work against a grab or if a person were to try to invade you in time before they would make an attempt to grab you, Again the techniques that he is demonstrating will work anyway, That's if you do them correctly, You practice constantly to perfection.

Well there's a coincidence. I was training these techniques as knife defence last night. Great stuff, nice to get that sort of deeper analysis and understanding in from the dojo.

Hello Sensei, great video as usual! You are a phenomenal instructor! As a budo Taijutsu practitioner, it is hard to find any instructors whatsoever in po dunk Tennessee so I often watch your videos and teach a group of friends at the local park. Thanks for your videos! You seem like a class act too!

I have a question. My daughter is 5. There is a school here in denver it was a genbukan school now they teach ten chi wa taijutsu , from my understand it is older genbukan ninpo training that was taught to him from Chadwick minge, a early student of shoto tanemura. Ok so my question is should I take my daughter to this school. I my self was going to join their instructor program. Or should I take her to a judo school. I my self love ths tradition of ninpo and I feel I can use on street I been self training like 20 yrs. But I not sure if it's right for her

Richard. Mr. N here. I would try her in both classes for a few weeks. See what she prefers? Ninpo is definitely a far deeper art, but she might like Judo better? Expose her to both and allow her the freedom to choose. Any training in an art is far better than none at all. Let me know what happens? Good luck.

I like the techniques, but what I do not resonate with is the attacker stepping up to punch. I don't think anyone does that. Additionally, a reaction is much slower than an action. Perception of an attack can increase reaction time given time and space. I studied the Togakure for almost 4 years and love the art, its just that you will fight or defend the way you train. How do you resolve that stepping up to punch? I'm sure you have thought of the above mentioned, I am just curious how you think about it.

1:35 I generally parallel your ideas and ways very close. Even though you and I have very different backgrounds I truly enjoy your channel and have found much that interests me, however your statement saying should you allow them to grab you, you say never. I think I have finally found a deviation from you and I on concepts. My answer would be heck yeah, always. When someone grabs you they aren't hitting you first off. also I always say once you touch me... I've got you. I'd much rather get grabbed than punched and I am a very close in fighter as well so I want them in close and I want contact with them, if they grab they think they are winning and have the upper hand. I say let them think they have the upper hand. Once they touch you just rip off whatever they touched you with and beat them to death with it... ok that was a bit of humor but seriously, I say heck yeah, grab me if it makes you feel in control. Anyway, love your channel and I'd love to get to your dojo one day if only for one or two classes. Deep respect for your skills both as an instructor and as a person who will go home at the end of the night.

Great moves. But, in my opinion, what ninpo lacks is harder, more "real world " speed applications. A handful of practitioners and I would go fast and hard; we'd wear full contact sparring (full head gear, chest gear, forearm guards, gloves, cups. Shin guard, etc.)and try to apply these moves in a street fight scenario. It would reveal the flaws in the technique and we'd find workarounds.

Nice video. Although, I would not break the shoulder unless he was trying to kill me. It's more favorable in the eyes of the law and morality.

Looks like real Jujitsu! Sadly because of UFC and Graic everything thinks Jujitsu is a sport from Birzial and not a combat style from Japan, But hey thats the American way these days.

Great demonstration but I have an argument with you do you think techniques that you teach or excessive force and how do you teach the techniques without knowing the law do you share the penal code of self defense for your students no disrespect I called her you believe and going home to your family but we have the police out here that's if there are say you use excessive force you're going to jail how do you explain that once again I enjoy your demonstration

Andre, we are always discussing the law and morality in self-protection - each and every day. If the law is not there to stop violence, we may need to stop it before they arrive. Police men and women (in general) do great work for society. We have several law enforcement agents who train. We are trained not to use excessive force, but to match what is given.
