The way everything is interconnected on trucks these days, one simple problem could cause a domino effect of fault codes. Few weeks back got a stop engine NOW coasted to shoulder after it shut down. Called our shop, they said you’ve got to many fault codes to even know where to start. Towed to dealership, it was a fuel line that came loose.
Gee ..one sentence your talking about how .. you have all this work and cant gwt equipment .. you are buying high dollar equipmet ..and tge next your complaing about how bad it is... i wish i had a situation where it where i could complain abiout plenty work making money ...but its hard .. .. .lol shit bteaks...drives screw.. up..trucks burn fuel.. women are a pain :in the "ass..its li c
Way to hang in there Gary. I’ve watched since the first couple videos an I believe you’re a no bullshit guy Mitch. Keep my eyes peeled for the rigs rolling. No expense spared it shouldn’t be treating you that way. Keep y’all’s heads up man! 💪🇺🇸🍻
I think some drivers just get into the habit of pushing in trailer brakes to prevent brakes freezing on in the winter and continue all year-long. I'm the opposite and forget to do it in the winter when I should. Lol.
We took delivery in Aug 20 a 21 367 heavy haul. At 7k clutch was out of adjustment. I went to adjust it and found 4 bellhousing bolts MISSING, and all the remaining bolts loose. 1/4" gap bellhousing to motor. Peterbilt had to r&r imput shaft, bearings, clutch, and flywheel. 7k miles! Peterbilt use to be the benchmark, but it's now conglomerate junk like all the rest. Sad end of an era.
man would i love to work along side someone like you. someone who's just so real and blunt. you cant beat guys like you. hard finding guys like that down here in fl. happy new year.
Yeah it sucks to see a new truck get done that way I painfully aware of that stuff first hand, getting equipment is the easy part finding quality people is the mount everest of task.
Longtime viewer, I'm sorry that this happened to you. I know it sucks because you want to find people like yourself, those who are kind and hard-working. Having said that, I can hear the frustration in your voice and your a much better person then I am
I wish you the best of luck man. 67 codes is ridiculous, so hopefully they make it right for you. I've noticed several guys around here have gone to Macks. I personally don't know if they are liking them or not but I do know I am seeing more and more of them.
Hopefully mack does better for you. I wonder how long that bolts been loose. Christ. And to have a truck after 40000 thousand miles is bad but 10,000 miles what the fuck. Come on Peterbilt. Class needs to pay you back for down time
Pete's & KW's are built by Paccar, yes this DEF - DPF is a joke, it derates the horse power & cause problems. When International came out with their new motor for the ProStar, they got the block for the 3406 , made some design look changes to the head but kept the block it self the same.I was a driver for a company who got them ( ProStars ) with the DPF system & mine had a bad injector in it, it injected fuel into the DPF filter big time & she smoked big time. Also derated , of course I was under a load. I heard that A West Coast Southern state that buts up to mE-xi/co they are getting rid of the DeF garbage.
A lot of times when your wheel seal goes out at least in the rear your breather vent is plugged it can’t dissipate the pressure in the hub and it blows your seal out.
I know exactly how you feel we have the same issues with our European trucks here in the uk 90% of the fault codes come from emit ion and ad blue systems, these problems are expensive to repair let alone the time the vehicle spends at the dealership, I would estimate nearly every truck in the Uk spends two to three days more in the workshop each month than trucks from 10 years ago, frustrating!! Keep at it Gary your doing great👍
Sorry to see the boo-boos on the Petercar.....Glad to see you again. All the best to you and the staff....and of course your family...Merry Christmas. LOve the vids!!! Be safe Mitch...
The give a shit factor: no body gives a shit any more. Been down that road with driver’s (wheel holders) I wish u the best. Nearly impossible to find operators treat shit like it was there’s. Bad enough that the trucks won’t stay together. We always run are trucks threw the shop after a month an tighten cross member’s an frame rails bolts up an same time tighten the damn drivers up as well. I no the turmoil that ur going threw. I drink enough for both of us. Lol good luck. Glad to see you still ticking
ECM failure if more than 8 codes generally.circuit power . Think I saw truck mud boggin. . Glad to see u are still around. Kickin ass n takin names . Damn shame on truck , reliable isn’t to the cards any more !
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and your family I'm glad to see another video and hope everything works out it hard finding a good driver one who especially takes care of there truck especially like your truck .
I usually leave my red knob pushed in. Came in handy a few weeks ago when it was -12 here in Minnesota. Only brakes that tried to freeze were my drives but they broke loose 🤷🏾♂️
Mitch good to see your brother Hope all is well with you and the wife. Sorry you’re having all those fault codes that’s way too many for one truck to have it one time unless it was driver induced which sounds like it might’ve been. Anyway thanks for the video you take care brother👍👍👍
Glad to see you posting again, I just wish things were going better for you but I am sure you will work thru it if you can't competent drivers. We finally got tired of the Problems of Peterbuilt and have purchased 2 Western Star 49 X and I have say I have been VERY impressed with them and plan on buying more Star Car heavy wreckers in the future. I was also curious if you have looked into the new Eaton Endurant XD automated Trans? I believe it's the one Dratchev did a test session of several months ago.
I will say if I'd found out sooner than you was able to I would of kicked that driver to the curb at a truck stop an wouldn't of sent him home on a plane I'd made him try an catch another driver to get him on his way that's the problem with this new generation today they want knew equipment but don't want the responsibility of properly taking care of it I could only imagine if that driver owned equipment like you had him in it would be trashed out in a year us old timers had to start out on old Autocars semi's and Diamond Reo's that didn't even have air ride seats or air ride suspensions let alone I started out on a 2 stick 5×4 drivers today have it made trucks got cold A/C and automatic transmissions with the luxuries of life but no responsibilities or appreciation for the equipment that's given to him to drive. Good luck on finding a good and responsible driver Mitch
PACCAR told my employer to go away when they tried to order our next batch of T800W, they told us all legacy cabs are done, no more orders left, and they are supposedly ending the legacy production in March time frame.
That pickup truck driver not know how to get a tire fixed ? 👣👣 Be walkin' soon ! This year has been a challenge for everyone...afraid we ain't seen nothin' yet !!! Sounds like a pinched wire with the DEF. No way did I ever want but one truck and trailer in all the years I trucked. Had enough trouble with the driver I had on it...and that was me. Hired Dratchev ??? Merry Christmas and Best wishes for a awesome New Year.
Hi Mitch Haven’t been seeing your videos? Thinking I wasn’t getting them because of me doing things wrong! I just retired at 72 working in the trades (plumbing) 58 years! Most younger have zero work ethic’s no pride ! Hopefully see you soon. Cape cod John
Very nice set up , I am not taken sides for nobody , A shame that happened to the truck , Definitely got damaged up it could have been way worse , the old saying Knock on wood , 67 fault codes , Whoever the driver was he did not know what the hades hes doing, I think I would have flew him far away too , They just do not manufacture trucks like they used to, Myself I've been at it for a long time , 9 months ago I sold out , I just give up , regulations the state I live in aB5 struck us , Absolutely got tired , I set a firm price on what I had , this guy came up and he had the cash Told him good luck , There is a lot of bucks involved in what you are doing and have all the problems just not good , good luck with your trucking , be safe take care yourselves
Be cool to see a video on the Mac build process. How you spec them out and what your looking for. Even a factory tour as your trucks are being build would be wicked.
i got my def heater changed in early october while on vacation to south florida, everything seems to running fine except the fault code didn't get erased after it was fixed.dang im loving south florida for vacation been 2x in 2 months.Hopefully the macks will work out for you, my company truck is 2018 pinnacle 521k
Oh man that sucks , 67 faulty codes dang , I’m glad I’m way pre emissions 1979 Kenworth LW 924 double frame ,protruding rad, butterfly hoods, pacar bush cab,18 Eaton fuller , 46000 rockwells , best part a3408 cat , old reliable solid , I haul a lot of logs and heavy equipment up mountains,my hot rod is a 74 Pete 359 it also has a 3408 cat 10-4 trans double frame flat big flat top sleeper , my Pete don’t work no more. But my old kwhopper works every day
Doesn't matter what truck you buy they're all junk nowadays so just pick what you want and live what life throws at you. I myself run older trucks 1996-1999 and can completely go through everything on it, engine, transmission, differentials, suspension, electrical for half the cost of a new truck and don't have to waste time and money in the shop. Just have to stay out of California which doesn't hurt my feelings one bit.
Careful drivers are sometimes hard to find. You are in the business, where extra care is very important to the load & the truck! Peterbilt is pushing trucks out of the factory way too fast. Keep the Faith!!! 👍🏻
I know zilch about heavy-haul. I DO know that I've been driving commercial trucks for >30 years (I even had a 1st generation TriPac, installed by the Thermo-King dealer that designed and built them, on MY tractor). The first trucks I drove were cab-overs with: mechanical engines - where a rod connected the accelerator pedal to the fuel pump, 9-spd Road Ranger manual trannys, manual steering, and when I was lucky, the A/C worked! Today, I work for a company that owns Freightliner junk. Do we REALLY need a tractor that can tell us that the Windshield Wiper reservoir is empty, but can't tell us WHY the yellow 'check' light came on? Do we REALLY need a tractor that SLAMS on the brakes because the 'crash avoidance' system thought that we were going to hit a 16' high overpass?!? Buying all of these trucks with electronic gee-gaws and doo-dads makes fleets THINK that they are safer. Whilst all of us, that have been around for a minute, KNOW that the responsible party is behind the wheel. If I EVER have to buy another tractor (to feed my family) it will be a late '70s, early '80s tractor that doesn't play well with electronics!
I delivered new Petes out of Denton and since the WuFlu hit and supply chain issues came right after, they cob these things together and send them out with no F’s given anymore. I delivered a set to California with the mirror glass hanging out, bushings missing from the exhaust mounts, and panels missing from the interior of the sleeper. The dealer said they were the best ones to come in in a year.
Oh btw I take my 359 on vacation road trips, absolutely love old truck , I almost want to make my lw a twin stick truck , cause an 18 sped sure can get boring to drive
Been driving a 2023 Pete with about 35k on it and the cruise doesn’t function at temps below 45 and of course DEF sensor issues. It’s below 45 degrees in Michigan a lot so that sucks. The door guide between the hinges is breaking on many in the fleet as well and makes a nasty crack/squeak noise when the drivers door is used.
Hey I'm new to your RU-vid channel , am a truck driver here, if you don't mind, it we be a pleasure for me to work with you over there, I'm Abiola by name from west Africa Nigeria , I'm 32 years old I have 3years experience in truck driving, and I love being a trucker that's my life, hope to hear from you soon ❤️💕
