Very charming cast. And the guy that plays Penny seems so fucking humble. They just seem like all around chill people. They had good chemistry for this interview. I can't wait for season 3. The interviewer had a point. If I was asked to name ten shows currently running that I love and watch asap The Magicians is definitely on it. Along with The Walking Dead, Rick & Morty, Bobs Burgers, Broad City, RWBY, X Files, Twin Peaks reboot, Stranger Things, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order SVU. (Okay fine that's 11 :P) All my favorite comedies like Key & Peele, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, King of the Hill, Childrens Hospital, The Office, Dont Trust the B in Apartment 23 (and the crime/comedy Rizzoli & Isles) are finished. Then I just got into My Name is Earl cause it was actually fucking hilarious and turns out they cancelled the show on a CLIFFHANGER. ;-; Someone suggested Mindy Project, Unbreakable Kimmy, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and Angie Tribeca but I just haven't had a chance. All my fav anime is either finished (Kill la Kill, Akame ga Kill, Samauri Champloo) or the next season is so far away I shouldn't even think of it yet (Attack On Titan). Harry Potter is done. Even though Rowling creates new content it just doesn't connect with me. I always identified with Hermione growing up, she was my role model (oh how things change lmfao). So The Magicians is really the last thing I have left to watch that has that magical aspect combined with a good blend of humor and twisted plot. The only thing Id change is tone down the sex, like a lot lmao. Some episodes were like 3/4 sex 1/4 Elliot and Margo being perfect queen bees. Lmao. Please season 3 come back soon! I need something to get stoned and watch with my friends lmao.
spooks Unfortunately, this is probably the best current show on with any magical context, but if you haven't seen the BBC's Merlin yet, give it a try. It builds on itself and gets better with each season.
Chris Dillane I'll check it out. I enjoy time based thing like Rick and Morty and Life Is Strange but I couldn't get into Doctor Who because there's just sooo much of it and ask any fan and they have a different opinion on where to start lol. See I LOVE things that build on itself and drop hint along they almost interacting with its fans responding with easter eggs of the top comments they've read. I love that stuff. Kinda like how The Walking Dead is gonna make a call back from season one episode one in the 100th episode season 8 episode 1.
spooks Okay, definitely give Merlin a try and give it a chance to grow on you. I got hooked on it. My current favorites include Fear The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, The Originals (some magic in this CW show), Riverdale, American Horror Story (some dark magic in their Coven season), Game of Thrones, Fargo, Better Call Saul, and a few that recently ended like Bates Motel, Humans, Vikings, The Returned, Favorite shows from the past: Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries, Breaking Bad, Justified, etc.
think what you want xD but I was so damn close to cry over three scenes on S03e05 because Eliot and Quentin are so freaking adorable and Julias reaction after looking into the mirror and seeing the fox eyes was so authentic, the entire cast is incredible! I also cant believe how funny Jason is. Chair up and down just for fun. XD I mean... not that he isnt funny on the show but for some reason I think he really had to play the shy guy who doesnt feel comfortable on a party or so. He and Hale, they both are sooo cute! (in a sexy way ofcause) maybe the bun is at fault but it looks so great on Jason. And Hale~ man, I would need hours to write down every reason why these two cuties are my favourits on the show. x3
Julia is a great character. Many people seem to not like her but personally, I find her very complex, interesting and somehow inspiring (she's stubborn and she knows how to fight for herself). And the actress who plays her is so charismatic. Tho I need to say it's hard not to have a crush on Eliot. Hale is amazing and Jason as Quentin is just so damn cute. Also they both have a great chemistry. The guy who plays Penny seem to be a funny guy as well, tbh they all seem like a great and very talented people and they're making a great job on set (actually acting in this show is amazing).
Julia and Margo are my favs and Julia's character development from s1 to s3 is so good for me. How she didn't want to accept the god-like power OLU has given her because of what happened to her, when she's craving it on the first 2 seasons. I think her character has the most sacrifice made in the series so far. As for Margo, I can't wait to see a backstory on her as where she came from or her family like she talked about it with Alice on season 1 I think but it's not shown much as with Quentin and Alice, even Eliot, Penny and Julia has little backstory and I hope they show it in the future. Margo seemed like the sassy and funny type and her character development from being indifferent to a caring person seemed to bloom in season 2 to 3. Her sacrifice of her one eye to bring Fen to Fillory. Then there's the fairy queen who I don't know if she's bad or she's just teaching Margo a lesson to be a better queen and that 'one-eyed conqueror', on what it means when the The Great Cock said it. It seems there's a lot in store for Margo. I also hope to see Fen and her daughter, wherever in the city they are and what are they doing in relation to going back to Fillory.
Most powerful Quentin he opened a black hole by himself in the middle of the gym during one of the first time to use magic in season 1. Quentin is definitely the most powerful even if he doesn't tap in to it
Season 1 episode 5 Quentin makes the black hole in the gym. Season 1 episode 5 Quentin finds out his dad has cancer. It's been explained a few times and Magic comes from pain or painful feelings. The more hurt you are inside the stronger Magic. If you notice everybody else in the gym was afraid and asked him if he was controlling it. While they do say often "that you have to take into account the circumstances because it affects a magic" and in the tournament you had to take into account the circumstances to perform the the magic for each test before you. Quinton actually didn't perform the test he created a spell so powerful that it out did all the other spells and actually created black hole. That's why I think he actually is a most powerful even though his specialty is minor mending
@@glennspitzer2684 oh gawd my bad I completely forgot the detail of him finding out about his dad’s cancer since season 1 was a while ago, also I was sleepy the moment i left a comment, so sorry about that lol. I rewatched the scene to recharge my memory and idek why I thought the circumstances he landed on was the space square and the circumstances was different. Throughout the show it was implied that magic comes from pain, and since Quentin was going through some serious pain, he was a using a lot more power during the casting than the others. To me being a powerful magician means having control over internal (like how Alice controls her internal circumstances to cast with one hand to create new Fillory with the World Seed) and understanding of external circumstances (how the metamath is different for every spell if the circumstances change). From my understanding, Quentin didn’t create a spell that was so powerful, he used a big amount of magic on a spell that he learned before going into the Welters game as seen when he was rehearsing to perform the same spell. Alice knew exactly which spell he was casting so he didn’t create that spell. Home-brew spells are more common amongst the Hedge witches. He simply lost control over the spell, couldn’t stop it until Alice interfered and stopped the spell. The crowd’s reaction to the square was because it was a difficult circumstance to cast in. Imo, Alice would be the most powerful magician (or the one with the most potential) in the show, hence Quentin trusting her with Ember’s power (of swallowing) to defeat the Beast knowing that he tried in the past 39 times. It was also Alice who did major damage in the show just show how scary that she doesn’t even know her limit. She was the only one in the group who has the makings of becoming a Master Magician. It’s not all about how much power/juice you bring into one spell, it’s more complex than just feeling pain at one particular moment. Quentin was never the chosen one, there was never a chosen one in the show I don’t think, he was in the timeloop 39 times before that wasn’t because he was special, it was because he was stubborn and magic craving as Jane explained that he just kept coming back. His discipline was minor mending for a specific reason from the book when he turned into a god and held Fillory in his hand to fix it. But from the show it was to foreshadow him fixing the mirror in the Mirror World to open the seam.
